Stars!! SK8 the Infinity Episode 1-3 Tenchi Souzou Design-bu Episode 3-4 Tensei Shitara Slime Datta Ken World Trigger Yakusoku no Neverland Yuru Camp
Yeah, like I said on Tuesday, when I was double-checking my list because of Beastars, I realized I'd totally missed Slime's episode last week. So when a new episode came out for Tuesday, we had two episodes of it ready for this week instead of just one.
Anno
when i catch up on go-toubun i'll have that
Anno
but that will probably be a week from now
Anno
You should watch the first two episodes of Jaku-Chara Bang I think you'll find it kind of fun.
I missed these two I wonder when they will get to reunite
Anno
It's always a bit nice to see the "too brainy to feel" Senku get a bit misty eyed.
>>914227 Probably towards the end of this big "Stone Wars" arc, so I'm counting more towards the end of the second season The fact that they're going up against Tsukasa properly soon makes me think they'll be showing up regularly though.
I wonder if it's the original work or the adaptation that has so much soul There's something about this series that just has a lot of soul to it It's kinda corny and dumb in a lot of places but it just works
Anno
Well Boichi's original art has a very particular vibe to it Partially because he's a killer artist but also probably a bit because he's Korean and brings their unique art quirks with him
I think the writing generally hits a lot of the standard "emotional" shounen tropes without feeling deliberately trope-y like Black Clover or even Hero Academia can at times And the very earnest "Science is cool!" attitude the show has is just fun in a very warmly child-like way.
Anno
Oh an electric fire starter For someone who's only just started seeing tech like batteries, Chrome is pretty good at learning how things work.
wow is senku going to use his huge brain to guess her three sizes what a terrible talent
Anno
It's all a very silly way of ascertaining if someone's really the right person or not anyway A better way out would be saying something like "my figure hasn't endured as well because of the resource scarcity in this new world"
She didn't really look all that butch in the past but the present version definitely is
Anno
The flashbacks we'd been getting from her looked like a lot of middle-school age stuff too though If she's a high schooler like most of the regular cast she might've filled out a bit more since then
But I'd also bet doing hunter-gatherer survival like she's probably doing as a part of Tsukasa's tribe would probably add to the muscle as well.
>>914243 It seems like a lot of the people like her who miss the modern era will be easy to win over yeah he's got a weird message
oak okay lets start
Anno
That's probably what Senku is banking on It'll be a philisophical battle in a sense, between Senku's old world science and culture, and Tsukasa's new world order of "adults bad" and "reject society return to tribe"
Anno
I mean I was being a bit in bad faith there "Adults bad" is a simplification of his stance that things wrong were because of the uncaring and cynical way he saw adults operate in his own life. Which isn't inherently a baseless or false belief.
>>914247 Yeah, me included! But a lot of people also believe society isn't worth the benefits it brings. Plus Tsukasa deliberately only saves kids, teenagers at best. Just think of all the kids who romanticized running away from home or living in the woods to escape their parents or other parts of society they were fed up with.
I've liked this show a lot more than I thought I would.
Anno
Yeah, I noticed, hah hah You're always eager to put it in the line up when it shows up. It's a surprisingly unique adaptation -unique series for being a spin-off of an established adaptation. ... Established concept I don't know why my brain keeps wanting to say adaptation.
Maybe it's a pun They definitely didn't explain or hint at why. Which is a bit unusual for the series.
Anno
Kidney stones sound like an absolutely horrible thing to deal with I'm glad I'm not genetically disposed to getting them Because I really don't think I stay well hydrated enough to avoid precipitate,
Anno
KINGU OBU PAIN
Anno
Another "What the cell?"!
Anno
Kidney stones are the kind of thing you either need medical help with, or just pass naturally There's not much your body's internal systems can do to deal with them.
Anno
Oh that's pretty grim They're talking about kidney failure here
When you think about it, the "deaths" of the cells in normal Hataraku are fairly high in number too But they're always off-screen deaths or comical ones like getting sucked out of the body Black's definitely more morose about death and not afraid to show it onscreen. But that's also probably because this is more of a seinen take on the more "for kids" normal Hataraku
This body is having a hard time. I wonder what the end of season crisis will be.
Anno
I wouldn't be surprised if they keep the policy but enforce it in a more gently fashion
Anno
I could see some serious organ, not total failure, but partial failure that needs hospitalization as some big end-of-series climax Alternatively they echo the first season of Hataraku with its cancer finale but show just how worse it is for a body that's not in good health to survive.
yeah, I think it will be hospitalization maybe some organ failure
yakusoku play okay lets start
Anno
If they want to go REALLY black, they could do a failed suicide attempt I wouldn't expect that though
Anno
This was getting a bit spooky towards the end of last episode Wonder where the people that wrote those frantic HELP scribbles in the bunker vanished off to
I'm wondering taht too will there be a timeskip or will something happen
Anno
I know from peeking in on the manga that there is a timeskip But I was under the impression it's a bit down the line.
Wonder how long it is until Ray and Emma can take their ear bandages off It's been probably at least a week or two since they had to put them on You'd expect the wounds would be healed enough to not need full bandages by now.
Anno
Unsurprising that their other -old Mother was punished and stripped of her position when she let all the kids escape I guess they gave her House to a more dangerous caretaker.
Anyway, if they're really mooks of the demons, they're probably on order to only kill the kids if absolutely neccessary I think the demons want the kids as alive as close to consumption as possible. Which seems like it was the case.
But if they'd been on the side of the humans they wouldn't want to kill the kids either. So it makes sense the kids, who are on the defensive, would have an advantage.
Plus don't forget these kids are as close to genetic superhumans as you can probably get. They've been bred to be their healthiest and smartest, and then given an incredibly enriched and empowering education their whole lives.
Yeah, no kidding I wonder if this is just flashback to a previous bad end Or if it's the same arc as before.
Anno
Looks like it was a flashback I think the scene was actually from the pentultimate arc of the original Higurashi
Anno
So far it's continuing like the previous episode was for this fragment With everything just coincidentally turning up positive
Oh I thought it was going to be the ponytailed leader of the Ah yeah here he is. I'm blanking on his name at the moment. He's a character that Ryuukishi likes to reuse a lot in his shows.
Oh hah hah hah That white-haired guy! He was Ushiromiya Ange's bodyguard in Umineko. I do believe he ended up being a snake planted to keep tabs on her and make sure she didn't do anything too outrageous. So it's funny they retconned him into being a part of the paramilitary squad.
Anno
Yeah this is starting to feel like it's sliding into a bad end. If only because this organization now has the virus under their control.
I wonder if we'll get an explanation for why Takano gave up and confessed. Rika was right, Takano's always been absolutely determined. Even if Takano was to remember her past actions in other fragments, it's unlikely it would drive her to give up. So something abnormfasdhfaslkdjasfasfshasdfhjasldkhasfkl;hafklihasd
AH HERE IT IS Someone else has the dice!
Anno
On a side note, it just goes to show how absolutely conditioned Rika's been by cycling through bad loops over and over again She has no ability to trust when things are actually going well.
Anno
Wow poor Keiichi
Anno
>Gets punched in the face >"Yeah, that's what makes this club so cool"
I don't really trust that things are going well either it's too earl early
Anno
I'm also still fairly convinced this isn't going to end broadly on a "good end" Closure, maybe, but I doubt it'll be happy.
Anno
Oh that's kind of sweet of Rika though She might not've been able to celebrate Satoko's birthday for a long time now Earlier loops might've been starting early enough that she could celebrate earlier birthdays But as Hanyuu's power weakened the loops started closer and closer to the end.
Ah but I guess she did get the good end at the end of the original arcs. So she was able to celebrate that birthday.
I kinda suspected it was satoko since the trippy stuff with her disembowling Rika, but I also thought it would kinda be weird if it was Satoko becaus e why would it be Satoko
Anno
>Satokowashi-hen We're going HARD on the puns now
>>914308 Satoko's been my dark horse theory for a long time now In part because of an amazing little bit of evidence that got compiled by someone in a thread on /a/ back in like, episode five or six. I almost thought it got confirmed last episode with the Satoko and Rika scene but then they did absolutely NOTHING with it afterwards, which kinda cooled my jets a bit. But AH MAN IT FEELS GOOD TO BE RIGHT
I'd definitely kind of like something particularly nice to eat It's been hard to care enough on my own to make good food for myself the past month or so. I was thinking of maybe getting some ramen takeout for Friday night dinner tomorrow, but that'll probably depend on how tired I am after work It'll probably be harder to order takeout if I fall asleep after work and wake up at like 22:00-23:00 like usual.
Anno
Hah hah Nadeshiko's gotten a nickname at the camping goods store.
Anno
There's definitely a kind of beauty you can only really appreciate in isolation.
Also since this is still stuck in my head This is the thing that sorta started the whole "Satoko is the 'culprit'" theory I was seeing earlier on It's right at the end of the OP, after Rika picks up the looper-killing shard The blood's presumably from who she uses it on, but on the floor around the blood, there's noticable sheens of pink and green colour. Now, the simple explanation is it's Takano's colour scheme, but the dark horse explanation at the time was that it's Satoko's colour scheme Because coincidentally they share almost the exact same colour scheme.
There's also a not-Sakoto witch in Umineko But I still can't figure out why Satoko would work against Rika.
Anno
Lambdadelta is arguably a not-Takano witch though. Her name's even a reference to Miyo, Takano's first name. Miyo can, or is, not sure, be written with the characters for 3 and 4 in Japanese Lambdadelta are the third and fourth characters in the Greek alphabet.
But that said, Lambdadelta is also a total prankster and teases people incessantly, which -is- more of a Satoko personality trait.
Anno
Oh no
Anno
Saaaafuu
Anno
There is definitely an aesthetic pleasure to oil/gas lamps
that was a comfy episode but still kinda thinking about higurashi
Anno
Hah hah hah Yeah it's not easy to just set something like that aside so easily.
Anno
Nadeshiko's onee-san continues to be an absolute beauty. I'm envious.
Anno
>It gets cold during the winter. Stay warm and be well-prepared! It's definitely been like that 'round here the past couple days Going to be a low of -14c overnight here. Far too cold for my liking!
