Erai-Raws was running into some server issues (which may or may not be the fault of trolls incensed by some of the management of the retired HorribleSubs), and are pretty behind on the weekend's show list.
From what I could see, SubsPlease is a start-up group that works in the same way them and HorribleSubs did, ripping stuff from the streaming services and typesetting it so it looks a little bit better.
They also have XDCC running for their shows so you can use that if you want.
Whatever we don't get to tonight I'll keep tabs on and reassign to Erai-Raws as they catch up on the stuff that aired.

Oh there should also be a couple shows on that list that I missed, one moment.

For new shows that aired over the weekend, there's season three of Gochuumon, which has been a long time coming.
And also Kamisama ni Natta hi, which is an anime-original written by Maeda Jun, the author of such trainwreck fun like Charlotte, Angel Beats, and all the KEY VNs.
Bang wanted to watch that one though so maybe once he's done being addicted to Genshin Impact he'll be back for it.

We're on episode two of Kami-tachi ni Hirowareta Otoko, which is the show about the Japanese oji-san that reincarnates into a shota body.
Kamisama ni Natta hi had its first episode air over this weekend.

Also like last Sunday if we do Majo no Tabitabi tonight we can probably have ToN along for the ride.
He was also interested in watching Gochuumon as well.

These exorcist people don't wear particularly flattering uniforms.

The eyes were -where his cheekbones should be are pretty unnerving to me.

It's well animated.

Yeah MAPPA is one of those studios that usually seems to be able to put out some really good animation, for at least a few episodes.
Some times more if they have a really good budget.
They were the studio that did shows like Shingeki no Bahamut, Yuri on Ice, Banana Fish, The God of Highschool last season.

The guy is being a good bit mean, but he's saying some pretty reasonable things.
Even if trying to be a good and helpful person is something you're doing because it was a dying wish of a family member, you're still kinda relying on them for your motivation for doing something.
Which is much weaker than sourcing your motivation from within.
I like the realization he came to then, that eating the fingers is something only he could do and not doing it would be a moral compromise for himself.

Yeah, this has shaped up to be something I like.

I think it's one of Shounen Jump's big newer series.
It, Act-Age, and Chainsaw Man were some of the more recent starts that got past the sorta trial period of the first year of serialization and have been going strong since.
Well Act-Age got cancelled but that wasn't because it was doing poorly.

We'll see if it falls into the same pitfalls as other shonen jump stuff too.
Black Clover also had a strong start but became disappointing
but I think this has a good premise.

It's cool they moved the setting to Tokyo too.
Paranormal battles in a Tokyo setting sounds like a blast.

I told Kirara to watch it over the weekend and he really enjoyed the twist at the end of the episode too.
I dunno if the series will maintain that level of sneaky writing but at the very least that first episode was a blast.

Oh and speaking of sneaky stuff, there's some really interested details in the OP for the new Higurashi series that maaaaybe hints at the new season being a tie-in between Higurashi and Umineko.
I was compiling them over the weekend and used it to convince Kirara to watch the new season too.

I was thinking that the appearance of older Rika may hint at tie-in with Umineko.
There's not a looooot of information out there about how the versions of Rika/Satoko we see in Higurashi are related to the kinda-versions of them we see in Umineko.
There's also like nothing out there about older Rika, except that scene at hte end.

In the OP there's like a one-second long shot of this building here.
It kinda looks like a generic prestigious building and might be the all-girls school one of the twins goes to.
Or the orphanage Takano Miyo grew up in.

When you look at the background CGI for the chapel in Umineko, it seems suspiciously similar.

There's this panning shot of Hanyuu in the OP too, or at least someone who looks a lot like Hanyuu.

But immediately following that shot is this one of a silhouette in profile, showing longer, slimmer, sharper horns than Hanyuus

They even turn towards the camera and the arc of those horns is entirely different from Hanyuu's.
But you know whose they resemble?

An Umineko character who gets introduced in the answer arcs who's an obvious Hanyuu expy in the way Bernkastel is a Rika expy.
It's a weird coincidence.

Erika and Bern are both visually callbacks to Rika, but Bern makes allusions to playing a long game with Lambdadelta, who is a callback to Takano Miyo.
Bern also references the fragments (kakera) which were what Rika called the worlds she hopped between while trying to save her friends and Hinaimzawa.

I guess I could see Rika becoming like Bern after a looooooooooooot of suffering.
I don't know that much about Umineko I guess.

Honestly he's kind of obnoxious.
It's both strategically smart to take him out because rewinding time is a really powerful power.
But probably also gratifying because he's annoyingly self-absorbed with himself.

Constantly jumping back in time seems to take a toll on him though so encouraging him to do it a lot is probably a good way to exhaust himself and make him easier to get got.

Yeah this is a pretty tough challenge she's been assigned.
She's not really one for assassinating people from the shadows it seems, and since a bunch of them have crazy mutant powers that make them dangerous to confront head on, she probably can't pull them off to the side and fight them dead.
So she's stuck getting close to them and using that to get their guard down.
But every time she does that, it becomes more and more obvious she's related to them dying/disappearing.

I think her best saving grace at the moment is that she seems to be killing them in ways that doesn't leave a body, so she might have an out that they're being abducted or are leaving together of their own volition.
Or that she can appeal to "innocent until proven guilty" that just because they're no longer around, that doesn't prove she's killing them.
But it's still only going to get harder and harder for her.

She's going to get discovered by him soon.
Maybe she'll convince him to join her.

alrighty, while there were way more differences in this episode than the last one, ther'es one in particular I want to point out
The training scene with the apple is just as gay in the original, but they're shooting bottles and not apples, and Elaina makes a point that she's hitting the bottle while not trying to knock it over.
Saya still can't do that because of being gay flustered, but this is important because a scene I didn't realize was skipped last episode.
When Elaina is training with Frau, they do the same thing, just less gay. (the importance of dexterity in not knocking the bottle over)

It's not vital, but I thought it was a noteworthy change, but of course if you skip one version of the scene it makes sense to not have the reference in another.
