I think there's a degree of alternate history going on too. Or maybe the apocalypse event that made their world into a wasteland and started all the people turning into Infernals happens in the future. Either way it's probably hard to compare tech levels between our world and theirs because of the big apocalypse that happened.

Oh that's a very Soul Eater-y face.
I dunno if it's the animation studio or if the mangaka's style evolved since Soul Eater but most of the time the characters in this series have less stylized expressions than Soul Eater. But every now and then the old Soul Eater style shines through.
I've been at those gates! The ones with the two statues flanking it. It's a pretty famous Tokyo landmark though.

either way Deca has been and is one hell of a show as long as they don't leave it open to another season it will probably be AOTY for me and definitely one of the better shows in the last decade

I know Deca-Dence has been in the works for several years now. If they've been that cautious about its development I'm expecting it'll wrap up its story in this season. Though we might not get an entirely book-shut-close ending. It would be a bit of a stretch to entirely unravel the mega corporation that runs Deca-Dence in the remaining two episodes.
it has also done a wonderful job of not pissing me off even yahari has pissed me off at times

Well the other two shows you're following this season are dramas. Deca-Dence is definitely more action and meta-story focused. It's easier to not get upset when you're not as focused on people.
