Kinda like people that get Chinese characters for tattoos without really knowing what they mean. But I feel these chief officers are at least named that way as indications of their personalities.

Kinda poetic really. Beruhren started off as an R & D company and got twisted by the desires of its chief officers to become a monolithic monster corp. And Spitzbergen began as a protest organization fighting back against the actions of Beruhren but mutated as they fought harder and harder and attracted more aggressive people to become a terroist organization.
I guess since it's a cyberpunk setting they might as well employ weird stuff instead of just bullets and fists. It's pretty noir-esque for the detective to get the shit kicked out of him without losing his stoic noir personality. Just in a setting like this it gets to be weird things.

No, I think he just kinda underlined that which we already know, that Juzo has some immense power that's kept under lock, that Juzo himself can't activate.
She hides a real jaded and cynical view of the world behind all that politeness and cheer. I guess that's why she's like a mid-twenties girl and doesn't seem to do much but work? and drink alone.

I think trust is a lot different than codependence. In fact people who are codependent ften don't trust each other.

I think that's kinda where Onee-chan's fundamental error kicks in. She doesn't trust, so she can't comprehend that other people can trust either. So when she sees people relying on each other because of trust she just figures it's codependence.

I guess this is why the series' final resolution was so up in the air right up until the pentultimate novel. Yukino kinda refused her chance to win Hikki and pushed him over to Yui. And Yui's monologue there kinda makes it sound like if push came to shove she wouldn't refuse.
So in the end it's down to what Hikki wants to do.
I think Yui will refuse too. They've always been like that.

And then Hikki ends up forever alone! That would be the legitimate cliched resolution for a series like this. Er I guess maybe not cliched but with all the whinging and cynicism Hikki dolls out the fact that no one really ends up dating him would be kind of ...suitable.

I guess despite what Rin said a couple episodes back about this "connection" between the the Zodiac members and the head being so faint it's nothing more than being distant relatives, wasn't entirely honest. The connection is strong enough to make the animals weep on meeting for the first time.
Yeah, it seems like a very deep and inescapable connection to me.

I don't know if I'd call it deep. Even if Rin wasn't entirely correct I think the connection isn't strong enough that if the relationship between Akito and the Zodiac member turns sour, the member does want to run away.

But I guess for a kid like Kyo the concept of the blame being on the toxic culture of the Souma family and their obsession with living life according to the tradition is probably a bit too complicated for him.

Hah hah hah So all Yuki saw in Tohru was a surrogate mother for the lack of a one he had as a kid. I mean that's still a kinda heartwarming thing. And probably a bit mean to just laugh at. But it's not really romance material.
