Oh you should watch Jashin Bang.
It's not really a mood show or whatever but it's dumb fun.
Excellently dumb fun.

Ah wow.
I was just thinking that out of the three Stooges that one guy had shown the most growth in terms of basketball skill.
But, uh.
That's one hell of a goof.

The MC can really pull off some good three-pointer shots.
He's always been good at them but it seems he's stepped up the game since they got disbanded.

The super-pronounced lips and big mouths in this series definitely look goofy at times.

Looks like Momoharu's settling into their jumpmaster.
Even though he can never actually sink a basket

Oh it's their advisor's wife's delivery date.
Yet instead of being there for her he's here for the basketball team.

He's taking his work very seriously.

The MC team's been doing really well so far.
Though I can't see them winning this game in the long run.
But on the other hand, have they managed to win any games so far? It feels like they lose every game they play.

Sports anime has this problem a lot
that volleyball show was like this too

the protagonist team always loses so many before they get good and in anime time that feels like forever

It has been forever!
We're on episode forty-two here, that's like 80% of an entire year of watching this show and they still can't win games.

Though they do keep going up against teams way above their salt.
Like this team's top four in ... some kind of broader competition.
Don't think it's nationals but might be regionals.
And they're a bunch of ragtag delinquents turned basketball players.

Games go pretty slow though.

Yeah it's a bit fuzzy.
Like in-series it's been like eight episodes spent per game but it has also been like most of a school year they've been playing.
It's both been very little time but actually an appropriate amount of time in terms of how much time we've spent watching the series.

Well Natsume still doesn't know the truth about the Gears and the broader menace of the corporate overlords.
I don't think Kaburagi can die without her having an inkling of that.

It sounds like this mission is normally supposed to be a kind of server reset for the Deca-Dence game.
That Gadoll Kaburagi killed isn't supposed to die and instead serves to knock down the forces of Gears.
Kaburagi kind of hinted last episode they do stuff like this every now and then.

From how the little machines were talking though the game just triggered the "next chapter" of unfinished content.

The offensive form of Deca-Dence is really cool though.

Yeah wow.
The Gadoll haven't been attractive or anything so far.
But this one is particularly grotesque.

The old man was so cool when he went all out.

Yeah but by going all out he broke the narrative the corporat overlords had going on.

Looks like the bubble they had trapping Deca-Dence in its little stage has been opened up though.
Introducing them to the entire, Gadoll-infested world.

You have to read the flags.
These kinds of things happen when you go all out.

it also leaves a LOT of holes for the plot to progress
they have to shoehorn a new character to lead natsume to overthrowing the gurren-glasses guys
it's definitely a better show if he dies here but it's so hard for them to pull it off that i hope it's not the case

I think there's enough puzzle pieces for her to start making connections.

my prediction is that someone saves kaburagi right before he gets decomissioned back on the station
and it's probably the opening scene

unless they do some flashback shit
this is a pretty good point to slot in a flashback

Kaburagi's not the main character of the series.
I think they need to retire him otherwise he'll eat too much of the time Natsume needs to develop.

The race last ep was good

The real deal will be a much different beast.
A cross-continental race is more of a survival and endurace competition than one solely based on speed.

Wow she put on a pretty dress for this party.

The style of this era is nice.

He's being pretty rude.
Yeah, Kosame at least is dressed in culturally-appropriate formal wear.
Appare is definitely a bit off-formal though.

Appare and TJ are definitely kind of the same vibe.

I guess most of the big moments in this series will happen at those supply-point cities.
It'll be neat to see places like Denver at this point in time.

Sounds like he plans to continue tinkering with it on the road though.

Earlier in the episode he hinted that he plans to replace its reliance on steam with gasoline.

With Appare doing some last-minute tinkering.

This is a pretty good show

I'm still waiting for these girls to actually get around to idol activities.

I don't think I've got a particular preference for any of the characters but I am enjoying the show.
It's a neat concept.

It's interesting enough.
Probably not the first time idols and magic have been combined but it's pretty comfy.

oh yeah appare is unique. It's great.

It's one of those P.A. Works originals.
Like stuff like Shirobako, Glasslip, Sakura Quest, Tari Tari, etc.
They're shows that can be a kind of a gamble at times, they can be pretty dull or mediocre, but they some times smash it right out of the park.

This Lucifer girl seems to be living up to her name inspiration.
She seems to be the devilish kind of brat.

Wow this is a dangerous board game.

The magic android girl's hair is pretty crazy.

Feels like there won't be a lot of idol activities this episode either.

The way they use magic for camp stuff is fun.

The purple haired girl's drain touch sure must be a problem.
She can't get close to anyone without making them lose consciousnes.

This definitely is a dangerous board game, hah hah

Somehow they did actually manage to shoehorn some idol activities into the episode.

I wasn't expecting it either!

I also wasn't really expecting them to set up a multi-episode story this episode either.
There's the weird haunted mansion the camping girls saw earlier.
And the stuff with the main group going on their own camp.

That was a good episode
and finally some idol activities
This was way more magic than idol activities until now

Magic is fun though!
Kinda feels like we're gonna have to wait for the season finale before the main girls finally get their idol unit together.
