With all the production delays nothing new aired today.
Well nothing we're watching at least.

Which really puts us down to an extremely slim list.

As far as things to add, there is another isekai series airing this season, Hachi-nan tte, Sore wa Nai deshou
I put it on initially but as things started to come in more and more and the list built up I took it out to spare myself from the size of the list.
There's also a whole season of Shokugeki no Souma we could do if you want.

Other than that, I don't really know.
There's the movies I mentioned previously too, I guess.

Also for posterity's sake here's the movies I could remember off the top of my head that might make for nice single things in a night

Promare -- ~2 hours
Seishun Buta Yarou wa Yumemiru Shoujo no Yume wo Minai -- ~1.5 hours
I Want To Eat Your Pancreas -- ~2 hours
Penguin Highway -- ~2 hours

Though I guess the Bunny Girl-sempai movie is only an hour and a half , not too long a runtime.

I'll drop by in the afternoon one day and coordinate getting the movies with you

Yeah no rush.
The start of the week's show's been heavily delayed it seems but I think a lot of the latter half's show are still around.
We'll get some of ths current season for Wednesday and Thursday.

I think this is a pretty generic isekai series.
Hits all the usual isekai beats.

Why did this not make the list? did it look uninteresting?

It was on at first!
But I -But if you don't remember, between the leftover stuff from the previous season and all the stuff airing in this one, the list was really long!
I kept it on for the first two or so episodes but it wasn't getting picked out so I dropped it because having to keep a large list kind of makes me anxious.

I kinda wish I had a nice quality rice cooker like that.
The one I've got works fine but it feels cheap and looks cheap.

It's rated kinda decent on places like MAL but the chatter I've seen about it kinda laments it being generic.
Though so far its production values seem pretty decent.

It's well drawn
going back to being a kid would be nice in one respect but it would also suck

Looks like they're nobility but pretty underwhelming.
And living a bit above their means, at least publicly.

All these brothers are kind of rank and file with each other.
I guess it makes sense since they're siblings.

Though he's still a kid.
Kinda like Hamefura I guess we get a brief childhood arc.

But yeah as minor nobles having a lot of kids was generally not the best idea.
I mean I guess as any noble having a lot of kids wasn't a great idea.
Once you've got like three or more divvying up the land starts to get a bit complicated and all it takes is one ambitious younger sibling and you've got a bloody end for someone coming up.

I guess he gets to powergame a bit

As poor nobility though why do they just have a magic-detecting crystal ball laying about their estate.
It feels like a particularly frivilous thing to keep.
And if magic is as insanely rare as they made it out to be it's not like there's much of a safe bet in keeping it to check people for magic.

This guy has a real 90s-era fantasy anime look to him.

Pretty garden-fare isekai so far.
That's not a bad thing though, but it is a thing.

Like in a less dead or oversaturated with isekai season it would probably feel pretty weak.
But eh, with nothing else to watch, it ain't bad.

This girl that's married into their family seems awfully complacent with the circumstances.
Maybe she comes from even more destitute nobles but even then I think it's hard to get excited about a life like the one they're living.

With how rare they're making magic out to be it doesn't surprise me magic users hold a lot of power.
That would be kind of like a random nobody suddenly being gifted controls to a nuclear bomb.

The language and attitude this mage uses feels just ever so slightly skeevy.

Weird design for a magic circle.
Kinda looks like that Funi logo animation that pops up at the start of their shows.

If that's really wasabi then oh dear.
That would fry my tastebuds.

Having to be a governing entity would kinda suck, yeah.
It would be kinda dumb to have someone with all that magic power and just drop them behind a desk for life.

He's always pretty eager to get touchy-feely with the MC

I guess keeping your cognitive faculties also lets you not become a rotting husk.

They've kinda dropped the isekai angle pretty fast.
Like all this could have been a thing without him being a salaryman reborn in this world.
The only thing that's been relevant about that so far has been him being a bit more intelligent and level-headed than a normal five-year-old would be.

Childhood over time for ADVENTURE
Did he just keep his magic secret for like seven or eight years.
That feels like a lot to gloss over.
Especially with how paranoid his brother seemed to be getting.

I feel a lot of series now just use the isekai element to get attention or whatever and quickly abandon it

Yeah.
I guess for the Japanese a pure fantasy opening doesn't sell as well as isekai opening.
Though I'd bet that's not really a Japanese thing and would probably be similar here if like the young adult novel industry suddenly experienced an isekai boom.
Proper fantasy is niche for a reason, after all.

I'm pretty sure this show's still chugging along.
We've got five episodes on the backlog but we'll at least be getting more of it weekly.

They've really jumped ahead fast.
He was going to have to work to earn his tuition for the school but suddenly he's now a scholarship student.
And everyone knows he's magical.

That anime food looks terrible

It's certainly not particularly appealing.

That red-haired girl at least seems to not be entirely convinced.

I don't blame the rest of the students for being a bit intimidated by the MC.
He does seem to be kinda awkward social-wise.

They play the "Not oldest sibling" card a lot in this series.
Everyone seems to be the second or fourth or fifth child of their family.

Though with the firstborns inheriting the family estate I guess it 's reasonable that all these kids would be younger siblings.

Reminds me of the MC from that isekai where the guy's reborn as a wizard's grandson.
He kinda went really absurd with his magic too.

I was kinda wondering when the photography stuff was coming back up.
Cameras and photos were kinda prominent in some of the promotion material for the series.
And there was a hint of it back in the first episode.

It always feels like a small town.
They can't go long without bumping into people.

Rikuo and Sensei still can't seem to make good on their decision to not be friends anymore.
If anything they seem like firmer friends with the romantic feelings cleared out of the picture.

I think she's rightly put off by feeling like Rikuo's backup.
Though I don't think it would be a good way to get back at him for it, dating another guy.
He's kind of an insecure dolt and would probably just backfire at her for it.

I'm a bit fuzzy on the timeline.
When the show just started she would have been graduating highschool if she'd not gotten kicked out.
I think it's been maybe most of a year by now? The weather's gotten cold again.
But if it's only been like a year or two since her highschool days, that's not too much time gone by.
I think I would have looked about the same in that two-year span.

Time flying by in this series does kinda make it feel more of a "mature" series though hah hah
Things don't seem to happen all too fast when you're a kid.
Once you're an adult they feel like they happen all at once.

What a terrifying panda.
I guess they're already jiang-shi but now she's also a panda.
And they want to be human.
I feel there's a few steps involved in that.

I wonder if she's implying that she's also super strong

Yurine does seem to be pretty strong at least.
Probably not the right power to break a panda's curse though.

At the start of this episode Yurine was in a shortsleeved dress and it was around O-Bon which is in the middle of summer.
But now it's the new year in the heart of winter.
