Of the two new shows, Hachi-nan is some kind of isekai.
Kakushigoto is an adaptation of a manga by the mangaka of Sayonara Zetsubou-Sensei. From the look of it the show's very much his character design style too.

Tanuki and raccoon are actually very genetically distant creatures.
Despite having similar features and roles in nature.

Someone not knowing what animal they are is definitely a reason to believe they may be formerly human.

Or at least not what they seem to be.

The synths in it are great.

I like the mink's human design.

If they can just hide it, why are they discriminated against?

Well the moment one slips up their secret is out.
The rest of the world evidently knows they exist, so it's not like they can be a secret society or anything.
If you're a regular human bean and there's mutants going around that can disguise themselves like people, I bet that's enough to get you spooked by them.
Enough that you'd root them out where they're hiding and lynch them.

Also seems like it's an emotional reflex that turns them into animals.
That's probably not something you can perfectly keep a lid on.

Man Michiru REALLY has some awful luck.

I kinda like that we're already dropped in partway into the story.
Like she's been transformed for a year and already seems to have a notion of her tanuki powers.

What a bad way to get your head stuck.

Can't blame her for getting a bad feel for the city considering everything

Apparently this is getting a second season.

That's a real genie's wish granting there.
Wishing to survive so just everyone else dies in your place.

This is the most iniative Iroha has taken all season.
She's kind of just been a viewport for the viewers to look through.

Mami looking like a real last boss for a moment there.

Hah hah okay hello Sayaka.

Geez fucking louise Mami.

Weird witch stuff going on.

Yeah.
I think that's kind of the power creep in this game/story.
Mahou Shoujo that can like go half-witch to get a whole lot of power.

The notable part of human sociological development really is MUCH smaller than that.

This is kind of one of those sitautions where the villain kind of has a pretty legitimate reason for doing what they're doing.
Knowing what happens to Mahou Shoujo at the end of their usefulness makes it pretty fair that she's trying to break the system.

This is a good song why did they take this long to get it in the show.

Honestly it's a good thing this is getting a second season.
Because it took the ENTIRE FIRST SEASON to get actually engaging.

I feel like there's going to be a lot of meta commentary about the manga industry in this series.

This girl with the hairband has a very striking resemblance to a certain perfectionist girl from SZS.

I like the black hair black eyes aesthetic

Seems like another Single Dad Struggles series.

I guess this is a sports thing.

It's serialized in a Kirara Time magazine like most cute girls doing cute things series we see.
But I think it's pretty heavily into baseball, yeah.

Well you always get the fujos shipping the battery on a guy's team.
Why not apply that gay pressure to a girl's team.

Well that accuracy needs a lot of work.

The other one almost had an idol format.

Yeah it was a mobage adaptation so it kinda had to do show-off to get people into the characters.

That really is an intense curve on that ball though.

The art on this is just a little derpy.

Yeah I've been noticing that too.
It's not particularly bad, but is still noticable hah hah

That said I think I'd prefer a series that can keep a stable level of quality like this rather than that other baseball girls show that had the quality go totally ballistic at times.

Tonight's shows really flew by it felt.
I guess BNA, Magia, and Kakushigoto all kept me pretty engaged.

Honestly this new season seems a lot better than the last, so far.

There were a lot of things I really liked from last season.
Somali, Itai Iya, Eizouken, Kyokou Suiri, Dorohedoro, ID INVADED, Hanako-kun.

There are a lot of things I'm really looking forward to in this season though.
Fruits Basket is starting up again, and so is Kaguya-sama.
We're getting more of the Slime Isekai series.
Hm, what else.

Hah hah geez he's really getting anal about this.
Sasuga science nerds.

But yeah even without a scientific examination it was pretty obvious a glasses case couldn't break that bad from that much of a fall.
So there had to be something foul afoot.

It makes a lot of sense.
A glasses case wouldn't break like that.

What a crazy lady gosh.

Well it doesn't really forgive the emotional damage she inflicted but at least she repaid the monetary damage.

It's pretty dangerous for a woman to fall asleep on a bridge like that.
