Hatena Illusion Infinite Dendrogram Jibaku Shounen Hanako-kun Kabukicho Sherlock Majutsushi Orphen Hagure Tabi Nanabun no Nijyuuni Plunderer Rikei ga Koi ni Ochita no de Shoumei shitemita Episode 2-4 Show By Rock!! Somali to Mori no Kamisama
hey any objection if we do something like hatena illusion instead of sherlock im just not really too eager to watch sherlock tonight >>797516 okay let's do that one then
Yeah it's hard camp right now. I guess it's pretty inevitable when your battle aesthetic is stage magicians and phantom thieves though.
月
i dont understand these post-ED things it's slightly uncomfortable though
Anno
This one's definitely a little more out there compared to others. I'll take in instead of ones like the dumb Petite Clover skits at the end of Black Clover episodes at least.
It was kinda normal aidoru anime fare for most of the episde then things took a weird supernatural turn with a sentient idol otaku wall.
月
oh no
Anno
KA BE DO N
Anno
Being an aidoru is Serious Business for this girl eh.
月
what
Anno
You must obey The Wall
Yuu
yeah this is the weird part
Anno
He insists that The Wall's orders are absolute but no one seems to WHY its orders are absolute. Seems to know, even. The fact that they're content to accept its orders, the adults around these girls at least, is particularly weird.
月
that's kinda how deep learning and AI goes for us though like you just dont question it nothing a human would understand anyway
月
and im sure we'll eventually have companies using stuff like that to choose their idol groups
Anno
I don't know if it's conceptually interesting or a bit unnerving. Maybe both.
Yuu
iits a unique take on idol magic
Anno
Yeah Miu kinda bared her fangs at the end of the first episode for a bit there and it was neat. But then she kinda went right back to being meek and hesitant.
Which honestly is probably more realistic for someone with her kind of mentality but it does kinda deflate the energy.
Anno
I guess the money from being an aidoru is probably a step-up from conbini work at least.
Anno
The particulars of the dialogue can be kinda stiff at times and you can tell some of the girls are inexperienced with voice work. But every now and then there's this really good erratic energy to the conversations that just feels natural. I do like that.
月
yeah
Anno
Hah hah The Wall sends her mom a ticket to their first live. She's gonna see her daughter up on stage with no clue she's been doing these idol activities.
月
i wonder how much the wall knows i think i missed the first episode or i dont remember much of it anyway
the wall sounds like something from the '90s or '00s they would have used for a stage show but it's really just audience voting or else like advanced AI from a little in the future
Anno
You were here for it because I remember your remarks on liking how some of the girls sounded, being amateur voice actors. I think we've just not really gotten much information about The Wall besides it gives orders, and its orders are absolute.
She's a real no-nonsense teacher, eh. Doesn't have time for Hanako's tomfoolery.
月
oh this is a familiar voice
Anno
He's always so ridiculously peppy.
I guess either way they've got to do all of the Stair body part hunts to either resolve the spook's problem or break its spirit battery.
Yuu
the chara design for this is si good
Anno
I've seen some illustrations from the manga posted on /a/ in the past and they've been even more gorgeous. I think this anime's done an excellent job of porting the manga's character designs into something more manageable for animation but the art for the manga's another step above.
This is a much different environment from the oni's forest they were wandering in before. I guess they've been travelling a lot.
Anno
The wandering nature of this series has a real Kino no Tabi feel at times. Though less the moral play or parable-y nature Kino had and more the fantastical nature of being on a journey.
月
this show hits a whole lot of feels it's really good
Anno
I'm really charmed by Somali in particular. Her BIG energy nature is really adorable for a kid.
Yuu
a lot of the small creatures are troublenakrrs
Anno
This one's a kid! Kids are meant to be troublemakers.
Oh they got Otou-san in a fancy outfit.
月
i like these creatures they come up with
Anno
MO FU MO FU
>>797612 Yeah the variety of design is great. It helps bring a lot of life to this weird world.
Anno
Hm that's probably not something too suitable for a waiter. Especially with the big spooky eye,
Anno
I guess that's the heartbreak about being on a journey. All journeys come to an end eventually.
月
uh oh bad seed to plant
Yuu
seems like he would be good at lots of jobs
Anno
Though the one he's tasked with for the longest time is the one he has a hard time with. Golems probably make for unideal parents.
月
yeah kind of a generalist but this is the place that needed a job
Anno
It is kind of tough though. Like Otou-san is correct in being careful about her, considering how many of these monsters we've heard talk about eating humans. But it's still way too restrictive an environment for a kid with as much energy as Somali. There isn't really a good answer here.
月
well he agreed but man if anything happens to somali now that kid's gonna be held so accountable
Anno
Well that's a super pretty cave environment. Oh giant bug that's spooky.
Anno
And that's a spooky mushroom.
月
oh no a carnivorous mushroom
Anno
The kid was talking about mushrooms that lure in bugs so I guess there's BIG mushrooms that go after larger creatures too.
