Two new things, Murenase! and Pet.
Murenase! is highschool but most of the school are like animal-eared people or outright animals and the MC HAET ANIMAL. It looks a bit silly and maybe fun.
Pet is some dark psychological thriller involving people with psychic powers. I dunno about it, it looks a bit much and I think I'm relatively indifferent to watching it but I put it there for posterities sake.

It does have that guy vocalist that did the Tokyo Ghoul OPs doing its OP though,

If it looks a bit much, moon may not like it.

Higurashi is getting a new animation project entirely separate from DEEN.
Might even be a totally new fresh adaptation.

We could probably get started on something before Moon shows up, unless I'm speaking of the devil here.

The fact that this is two cour kinda makes things much more sensible.
I'd been feeling like there was way too much to tie up in an episode twelve and maybe thirteen.
But instead it's just a mid-series peak.

Harada doesn't really have much of a respected reputation, personality-wise.

His style is a bit petty.

Bit is a bit of an understatement.
But I guess all is fair in competition, as long as you don't break actual rurus.

Arata's at least countering the petty with cunning.
It's probably a good way to play in a similar way without sinking to Harada's level.

Harada was quite handsome when he was younger though.

... He really seems to yield a lot of matches.
Maybe his knees are getting to him again.

But the implementation definitely seems different.
The Psycho-Pass Dominators are for control and enforcement, where this thing just seems to pick up on the impulse to want to kill.

This is also an anime-original series too.
So unless this swerves hard into Higurashi territory before the end of the second episode, it's probably not.

We didn't get much explanation for all them in the time you weren't here for.
They seem to cross-reference the things the detective deduces with real-life information and then take action based on that.

Lots of questions left at the end of this.

Yeah, I think the first two episodes came out as a double-feature, so people watching live probably get most of their immediate questions answered in the next one.

I think the series this is adapting is pretty popular over in Japan.
That's certainly not an endorsement of it being good or bad, of course.

And of course, when you've got a game named after Darwin it can usually be implying one thing.

This is an adaptation, I think of a light novel? And that light novel or whatever the original media is, is pretty popular in Japan right now.

Yeah, she tried to get him to look at his super-power on his game profile but it just comes back with ERROR so she decided he's too weird to trust.

It does feel like he's got some exceptional luck, yeah.
Though we did also see his power dupe the pen earlier in the episode.

these monologues are really breezed through quick
i think they could pace that out a bit better, but at the same time it's a trope in itself so maybe they're doing it right just to speed through it

They were also even slowing down the time while he was monologue-ing too so they're at least sensible that he can't just burn infinite imaginary time talking to himself
