All these girls are a bit of a handful.

I'd say I guess it's a light goofy episode to give a breather from the serious tone of the action arc earlier but honestly this show is pretty much constantly goofy and even in a serious fight the stakes have never really felt .. there.

I think the ghost ship Primal was the first one I had a bit of trouble with when I was doing the story mode.
Then an island or two later there was the boss fight with the rose lady and that one was such a pain to beat without putting in a buncha grinding in the game's lousy raid and guild battle systems and I just got bored of it.
I guess if we ever get a third season of this we'll get to the point I dropped out.

Oh yeah, when I was in Japan back around 2016/2017 New Years they had a bunch of GranBlue commercials playing on the television channels we'd put on some times.
One of them featured that big gigantic world of blue flowers.
I'd forgotten about those until now.

Interesting setting for this ep

I really can't remember the story of this arc at all hah hah.
Ferry's stuck on the island as a ghost and they gotta fight the ghost ship to set her free.
This whole bit with the girls stuck alone in this series of worlds and doors feels like it might be anime-original stuff.

Poor Gran's an expert case in being left alone by his family!

Is this a show you particularly want to watch?
I find you kind of keep quiet while watching it.
I do but so does Moon.
So I dunno, there might be something more agreeable to the circumstances.

Though at the same time I'd wager if Moon was around to say something we'd probably be fine to go ahead anyway.

There's these cute relationships forming with these two girls and the two MCs and they're kind of stuck being, well, the three stooges.

Yeah this was her whole thing from the first season.
That girl was once her best friend but threw her under the bus so she could get with that boy.
And that's what made her all kind of bitchy and manipulative when she first got introduced.

That was some good savagery from Kurata though hah hah

Hozuki's crush is pretty cute though hah hah.
She's trying to hide how cute Kudo can be from the rest of the girls.

This OP has such an old-fashioned feel to it.

The series is kind of like if Hayate got isekai'd into Disgaea.

This one feels kinda generic shounen

Yeah, a bit kids-y.
Not too overwhelmingly though.
Not yet at least.

Looks like it runs in a pretty standard-fare shounen magazine, yeah.
Though it's also the magazine that Beastars and Yowamushi Pedal runs in.
They've had a couple other notables, in particular a few Tezuka and Nagai Go manga but most of their series seem to not really be ones that would be known outside of Japan.

I wonder if a familiar summoning would even work for him.

I'd say I'm whatever about it.
It's watchable, but that's a pretty low bar to clear.
Though I do like how they're seeding a bunch of characters that'll be relevant later on here.

Even the zero-stakes Choyoyu is probably more engaging than this show though.

The mediocre folk of this world do seem to suffer a good bit from the Melian Dialogue though, yeah.

I guess Mavis' dad is a bit of a FIGHT nerd.

Neat to see someone that can kind of put up with Mile's overwhelming POWER by just being extremely skilled.
Though if only for a while.
The author for this series is smart enough to distinguish that raw POWER and actually being skilled are two entirely different skillsets.

Well it's like what I said above.
She's got the stats to be strong but doesn't have the practice for finesse or skill.
So this guy who's been a dedicated fighter his whole life does have a bit of an edge in that department.

Kind of like a raw muscle untrained street fighter and a seasoned, practiced follower of a school of martial arts.

Though of course in the end her sheer POWER was still more than enough.
