they explored about all they can on this side of the gate anyway, yeah
if they were to have some content around general crime-fighting beyond the plot that occured there, it'd be pretty bland
better to just explore tilarna's past of fighting crime on the other side, thats more interesting

They've referenced what seems like a brief war between the worlds in the past too.
One that Kei fought in, which is where he knew Zelada from.
So there's going to be some interesting conflicts about that if they can ever spend a lot of time in the other world.

It's one of the really lovely parts of it.

I can't say much on attraction but Shigure was one of the more interesting characters to me when I first read through Fruits Basket in high school.
The way he dances on a line of cheery mischief while nursing that self-identity of being, I guess for lack of a more chuuni term, impure, was interesting to me.

A bit, yeah.
It kind of makes sense from a broad scheduling perspective though, since it gives you an extra week of leeway in case something interrupts your airing.
Plus if there was a recap episode? I don't think there was but I'm not certain, that would explain the missing twenty-sixth too.
