I've been hearing rumours about there potentially being a Railgun season three too. Only rumours, but that's how the Index season three began too.

That probably would have been the first chapter, or at least the first mini-arc, in the manga. As I understand the bit in the past with Thor and Thorfinn's childhood came a bit later.
I hate that from a narrative sense. What was the point of stealing the win from him, just to have him job a minute later. Just let him have his win, it was suitably hard that we still resepct the power of the numbers. and they showed off how strong senpai was earlier when he beat down the daddy demon.

This whole arc started too with a deceit by the momma spider to lure weak Demon Corps members in too. The whole game was rigged from the start for Tanjirou to be way out of his league.

As far as i know, only two-cour have been greenlit so far. There's material for quite a lot more if they can get the okay to do so though. People who are reading the manga seem to believe it's on its way to the finale too, so it might even be something that could get a full adaptation in time.
Apparently the LNs for this series go all the way into Latina growing into a young adult. Though I don't think we'll get remotely near that point in this single-cour adaptation.
Fantasy life sure is cozy when you're an extremely proficient adventurer without any worry for money or danger.
