It's pretty emphatical of him recalling his experiences of the loop reset scene with his dad. I wonder if the original game required you to go down a specifc pattern of routes in order to unlock the proper true end. Or if it's just them playing with the fact that a player reading the VN -would- remember their choices and routes from previous routes.

Hosts really have pretty awful jobs. It sounds nice on paper, getting to woo women and drink a lot all night. But drinking that much just makes you kind of lose all sense of pleasure and the emotional stress of having to be flirty but still create barriers to keep your job.

Hosts are pressured into drinking by the women they serve as hosts. There's an expectation there that they end up roped into. Often there's not really an opportunity to switch out drinks or sleight of hand water them down.
