I guess it's to be expected of a show concerning Japanese artifacts, but it can be a little "you must be this Japanese to get this reference" at times. Still interesting though.

They do explain the whys and the stories behind some of the objects, and it helps a bit. But all these references to historical and mythical Japanese people feels like something they're expecting you to know because you too are Japanese and would have learned this in school. Can't be helped though.
