I guess this is kind of the arc resolution episode.
This show peaked during the dungeon exploration episodes.

It's been thoroughly mediocre shounen the whole way through.
The manga's ridiculously popular though, this anime could go on probably until they start hitting the point where they're caught up.

I think it's, like, consistently in the top three in Shounen Jump ratings.
Or at the least always close to the top.

It's one of the latest attempts at coming up with stuff to replace the big three.

We had a fairly unexpected twist last episode.

It was pretty well done.
I think expecting it to not be that this guy was the big bad was pretty straightforward.
But the manager was an unexpected evil reveal.

I guess that's one way to save the budget.
It's a BUDGET beam.

They're earnestly honest about it too.
What a bizarre show.

I might've read the odd chapter or snippet but it's beyond my familiarity from hereon out.

It's been a flashback pretty much the whole episode.

Yeah, that's true.
Interesting, but also kinda filler.

Well in a more high-tension series it probably would have been a breather episode.
After all the cook-offs and the expulsions and bartering.
Souma's a series that doesn't quite carry intense hype though.

Maybe this adaptation is too short for them to get to the half-year time limit on their relationship.
And these two dorks are going to be the final arc for the show.

After the ironic QUALITY of Mahou Ore earlier, the actual QUALITY in this show is all the more apparent.
At least the studio has actually finished the episodes on-time this time.
Instead of pulling another Marchen Madchen.
