Well the best twists are always the ones you don't see coming but realize are obvious after they happen. Still, like the only real thing to work off of was that there was no way it was obviously the idol guy. And then process of elimination. It's not like their manager was weird or anything compared to the rest of the cast.

I always figured it was a show for girls. The first episode or two might've not been quite right, but there's certain tones about it that are definitely not aimed at guys. Though in fairness the jacking off bits are a little off target in my opinion.
