that's a lot of anime

Only like twenty-eight episode lengths worth of shows. No sweat. No. Sweat.
This is a thought related to my flipping through my anime folder and that's that tokyo ghoul is really just generally awful but had good OPs and EDs
Anonymous
The music for the show in general is really good. Like sure, it's not compositionally marvelous but the OST has always been a really for thematic resonance with the events of the episode.
I actually like this one a lot less than the last one. The unrepentant edge of the protagonist was one of the few redeeming factors of the series. Hopefully he goes full edge next episode.
Anonymous
oh tokyo ghoul;re is out?
Anonymous
Yeah episode one.
>>459169 I don't think he'll go full edge really, not until he remembers who he was. And I don't think that'll happen for a good while. Maybe not even in a single cour of show's worth. I haven't really read the manga though, aside from the one chapter where he bones the angsty girl who was his complicated love interest in the original series. But I have a gist of the stuff from how much chatter it gets on /a/.
>>459177 is the art still garbage compared to the manga
Anonymous
>>459191 Yeah. Probably always will. Tokyo Ghoul's most redeeming factor is that the art is actually really pretty when the author tries. There's no way Pierrot could compete with that, considering they're animating like half the shounen shows airing these days.
>>459193 Like this is the contemporary shit they're putting out these days.
Anonymous
>>459193 >>459194 what a shame the only thing i didn't like about the tokyo ghoul anime was how watered down the art was in comparison to the manga at least the music was a good addition
Anonymous
Well I'm being a cherrypicking asshole, the art for Tokyo Ghoul isn't too bad. But it is definitely incomparable to the art of the manga.
I wonder if 02 is getting more klaxo as they get closer to wherever they're going.

Maybe it has something to do with how her partners always end up dead. Whatever dynamic there is between her and her partners quickly kills them, and makes her more and more mecha-dinosaur.
Anonymous
Though from how she's talking it might just be something of her own she's dealing with.
Anonymous
Well. Points for trying.

/a/'s also been shitposting about that comment about how she's had over a hundred partners.
So I guess the twist is that he's the darling from way back then.
Anonymous
Yeah that's definitely what they're hinting at. It would be kind of funny if it's actually some totally different person, but the entire international viewership would lose their collective shit over that.
Maybe it's because it got so hyped but this episode didn't blow the doors off like I was anticipating. We already knew she was at least part monster, and him being a forgotten childhood friend is a really anime development.
Anonymous
I don't really know much about hype. Kirara was just pestering us to watch it because he wanted to talk about some of the stuff.
that was a good episode i really liked the 9s guy hope they'll show up again soon
Anonymous
im gonna rewatch it evntually

>>459241 It would be kind of strange to showcase an elite squad like that and then bus them off into nowhere for the rest of the show, yeah. I expect them to be around/
One thing that kinda bothered me about this show aside from all the obvious issues is that it was never really well explained why the committee was so evil and against the protagonists
This girl is like straight out of that one show about high school girls driving boats. Remember that one? The German girl they took in?
Anonymous
Yeah, Haifuri. Except she's English this time.
Oh right who the fuck was this even.
Anonymous
oh boy the last-minute addition is here
Anonymous
Apparently Haifuri got an OVA recently I think. Or some kind of something.

This trope of explaining your powers before you've actually "won" is the worst.

What the fuck Santa Claus.

And it's a - Wait wasn't the crazy match girl's sister outside the magic arena just now.

And now we get the plot hook into the final two episodes that we DON'T GET TO SEE.

Or maybe they did some last minute changes to bury this for good.
What's even sillier is Hoods Entertainment, the studio who animated this, is doing a new show this season. Hopefully they had some better planning and resource allocation this time around.
Seems to be. She already had sparkly, shiny, new automail after what seems like a pretty brief time after losing the arms.

Autistic Violet was really cute. It's nice that she's kind of got emotions and character now but I'll miss this.
Anonymous
Hah hah she totally thinks it's Gilbert but it's the grumpy older brother. Yup.
Anonymous
I guess their mother's mind isn't all there. Life is rough.
Anonymous
Oh my mistake. She's just a very good mother.
Anonymous
Oh are they playing this song again. I really liked it back in...episode nine? Something like that.
Anonymous
Poor Erica. Heart BROKEN.
Anonymous
Ah they're doing the PV song instead. Thsi -This is a nice one too.

This festival seems to be kind of a real mess of privacy. Anyone can just pick up a letter and read someone's personal writings.

Apparently there's been a bit of a trick they've been doing with special effects throughout the show. Those memory scenes, of Gilbert as they walked through the market there, in the earlier episodes they were edited with this foggy, cloudy special effect. And slowly throughout the series, matching Violet gaining understanding about emotions and people, the callbacks to that scene got clearer and clearer. I guess this final shot of it is perfectly clear.
