This is a thought related to my flipping through my anime folder
and that's that tokyo ghoul is really just generally awful but had good OPs and EDs

The music for the show in general is really good.
Like sure, it's not compositionally marvelous but the OST has always been a really for thematic resonance with the events of the episode.

I actually like this one a lot less than the last one.
The unrepentant edge of the protagonist was one of the few redeeming factors of the series.
Hopefully he goes full edge next episode.

And I don't think that'll happen for a good while. Maybe not even in a single cour of show's worth.
I haven't really read the manga though, aside from the one chapter where he bones the angsty girl who was his complicated love interest in the original series.

Tokyo Ghoul's most redeeming factor is that the art is actually really pretty when the author tries.
There's no way Pierrot could compete with that, considering they're animating like half the shounen shows airing these days.

Well I'm being a cherrypicking asshole, the art for Tokyo Ghoul isn't too bad.
But it is definitely incomparable to the art of the manga.

I actually think that the new tokyo ghoul looks worse than the last series.

This festival seems to be kind of a real mess of privacy.
Anyone can just pick up a letter and read someone's personal writings.

Apparently there's been a bit of a trick they've been doing with special effects throughout the show.
Those memory scenes, of Gilbert as they walked through the market there, in the earlier episodes they were edited with this foggy, cloudy special effect.
And slowly throughout the series, matching Violet gaining understanding about emotions and people, the callbacks to that scene got clearer and clearer.
I guess this final shot of it is perfectly clear.

Well that was a nice warm ending for the series.

New project greenlit, huh.
Well that can mean all sorts of things.
How exciting.

More of this would be good.
The slice of life one-shot character episodes were the best. The war stuff wasn't as good.

You could just say you didn't like it as much, gosh.
