That makes two graduations this season though.

So they won love live but the chool died anyway?

The two weren't the same victory conditions.
By the time they were going to the Love Live finals their school was already slated for closure.

I guess this is pretty much the end for them unless they do like 40 movies like they did the first time.

I don't really know how things are in Japan, but it feels like this group never really caught fire in terms of popularity like the first did.

Wasn't there just one movie of the original Love Live?

I feel like there was a lot of post-graduation content.
Maybe some of it was OVAs.

I guess that's supposed to be the "I'm not actually jealous of you for stealing my best friend spot for me".

It feels like the second years didn't get much attention and characterization this time.
It was all either first year shenanigans or third year drama.
The second years feel like minor characters, especially when compared to the last set of second years.

Her mother sounds a bit like a non-tsun Kugimiya Rie.

Because it IS a non-tsun Kugimiya Rie.
Wow what she doing in such a minor role.

Also Sunshine is geting -getting a movie.

I wonder what its popularity is like right now.

I don't know about right now but last year this time they had stuff featuring them plastered all over Akihabara.
I know that's more an indication of advertising budget but I'd imagine they wouldn't devote that much to it if the reception wasn't there.

The 3D here looks a little lower quality than usual.

It looks like they're taking clips of their dances from previous dance scenes.

Those look fine.
It's the 3D dancing in their school uniforms that looked a little off.

I think some of the older stuff is kind of low-quality too but yeah.

The 3D they use usually doesn't look so flat.

Guess they didn't have time to render the lighting.

I would have rather they ended with the normal ED in some format.
I particularly liked this Love Live season's ED.

Well, not as good as the first, but this Love Live was still good.

And then the second was Akari and the lil' bitch.
Oh wait there was another OVA that covered the imouto and her crush on the guy with white-hair.

I'm fine with them focusing on these two for the OVA series but they could have at least subtly referenced the other relationship arcs.

They got a bit of revenge against director-kun for being a bit of a shithead those few months.

It's always a -always hard to tell.
They kind of covered a bit of these two's stuff in the other adaptations so I wasn't expecting them to get a whole six episodes of content.
I think there's more characters and romance drama they've come up with over the years that they could adapt if they choose to.

Kujira no Kora wa Sajou ni Utau - Children of the Whales.
It's a fantasy/sci-fi series that ran this season but got snapped up by Netflix or something, so HorribleSubs couldn't do weekly rips of it.
But Asenshi has been subbing it throughout the season.
We had so much this season that I never found a good moment to add it to our watchlists and eventually resigned myself to just watching it solo once the season wrapped up.
But I've been procrastinating starting it so if there's time to watch stuff before the wave of new shows hits we could try it out together. It looks interesting and pretty polished.
