I feel like this series has a lot less direction than it did when it started.

It's kind of meandered all over the place.
The school segments are a little aesopian where the apartment parts are more just urban fantasy.

And the episodes aren't focused enough to call it episodic.
An episodic approach focusing on individual characters would be a good approach for this show.

Instead they just sort of do some passive three or four plot threads that slowly progress over the episodes.
