This episode can't be more weird than last week.

This is rotoscoped, isn't it?

I don't know.
There's some weird exaggerations in the animation but they don't quite fit in line with what roto-scoping usually produces.
Like how the mouth is sliding around the face.

What it really feels like is shitty animation.
Remember in Shirobako when they were talking about the rushed animation and how it made everything all jiggly and wobbly? That's kind of what I'm feeling here.

Also the lip-synching is completely off for a lot of the dialogue.

hmm, I guess it isn't rotoscoped, it's missing a bit of realism for that.
The animation certainly is strange though.

Wow yeah the lip-synching on the Hakase's line there was completely off.
There must have been like, no post quality check on this episode or something.

I guess they figured it was messy enough adding more didn't matter anymore.

Also I don't really know why they're localizing Hanako to Jane Doe.
The connection is accurate; that is the name that's used in unindentified murders for women.
But it also feels like an unnecessary step.

Well I guess this has been pretty dream-like.
Most people don't really have coherent plots and resolvable storylines in their dreams.

I could see myself having a dream like this, yeah.

One of the weirdest things about this show is that it's hard to tell where the QUALITY ends and the intentional begins.
