Not to mention he was shining a flashlight into the car. Have you ever tried to see things when you've got a bright light shining in your face? It's hard to make out any details.

Felicity's only real idea of the man comes from his voice--and most people don't have a particularly memorable voice--and the fact that he was shrieking CHICAGO at her.

Like, I heavily suspected it was the police officer (though the appearance of Archibald made me also suspect it was Samuel), and the name kind of gave it away too.
But that's something I can understand as a player and someone outside the story.

Binbougami ga, Daily Lives of Highschool Boys, Mawaru Penguindrum, Shirobako, The Rolling Girls, Houkago no Pleiades, 91 Days, Drifters (PAN might like this one too) ,

Penguindrum can be kind of "too deep for you" at some points but it's a really pretty series and has a really high level of aesthetics to it.
Even if you don't understand everything that's happening I'd advise finishing it just for the quality of work alone.

PAN loved it so I'm kind of obligated.

If Ping Pong's art style is a bit hard to swallow at first, I would say maybe try The Tatami Galaxy first.
It's the same director and has a lot of the same feel to it, but the overall character design is a little more in line with typical anime stuff.
The director, Masaaki Yuasa, is one of my favourite directors and he does AMAZING work with the stuff he adapts. I'd heartily recommend anything he's done to people.

Nanoha is great in its first and second series but it kinda jumps the shark after that.

Also have you actually watched Nichijou or is that so old you might have actually?
Because that's a really fun series.

Hyouka is another series of really high quality in pretty much every aspect. It's a bit more slow-paced but it's got great characters and a lot of really interesting cinematic work that you wouldn't expect from a television anime.

Yuasa is great

Also I asked earlier and didn't get a clear answer but you should also try out some of the TYPE-MOON universe stuff.
Like Fate/Zero and the new Unlimited Blade Works series.
If you do go for those, try and get the BD releases of however you attain them. There's the occasional QUALITY bit --

There's also Mushi-shi. That's another series that's really dear to me.
It's harder to think back to older series and stuff I watched when I was younger.

I also really like Haibane Renmei and Serial Experiments Lain but those are both series that are hard to recommend to people since they're series that don't appeal to a wide base very well.

Did you ever watch the Shingeki no Bahamut series?
It's got a lot of characters that show up in GranBlue.
And there's also a lot of high-quality animation put into the series and it's generally a fun, action-y time.

But you might want to go read all the finished Mizukami Satoshi works so you can understand what Blue, Kirara, Roc, myself and probably others all get so excited about.
That's Lucifer and the Biscuit Hammer, Sengoku Youko, and Spirit Circle. None of them are particularly long series; even if you're not a fast reader they're one, comics, and two, relatively short-run series.
