I also realized the cruise control has two settings it has "keep me at this speed" and you can take your foot of f the gas, as long as you're geared properly but it also has "this is the speedlimit" and it just keeps you from speeding Not entirely sure how much purpose that latter function has, realistically, but it's neat Not because I speed habitually, but because it would be real annoying if I'm trying to pass someone and the car just goes "no you told me this is the max!"

Voxel-based stuff like that hits a hard wall when you try to do what X4 does, it's barely even a question of resources anymore, you couldn't possibly muster the sheer processing power necessary
X4 is more restrictive in those bits, but the return is everything is very much real. If you post up near a gate critical to a faction's trade and blast everything that comes through, you cripple their econ, and that has real gameplay consequences

I suppose there is something to be said for how the whole story's very clearly premeditated, though None of the reveals feel like asspulls, there's a powerful sense of all of them having been planned from the outset, not introduced and pulling on pieces of information from earlier to make it SEEM planned Whether that actually is the case isn't possible to really know, but that's how it comes off at least. The Big Bad's motivations are the only thing that really seems like it's gone through multiple stages of development before landing on the current one, mostly because he's set up as hypercompetent but the actual stuff he's done doesn't seem like a good way to go about it
Also there is something really weird about Nana's phone not having Kyoya's Talent, immortality, actually listed Not because "they should know! they sent him to the island!" since at least conceivably they could just know he's real fucking resilient to physical trauma But because it is revealed later in the story that him being immortal specifically is something he found out through some sort of government office that evaluated him, he didn't even really know he had anything that special about him prior to that So like Paperwork exists explicitly categorizing him not as "tough", but immortal And that's the sort of power you'd put high priority on conveying to someone tasked with eliminating all the people on the island, including him And even if it develops further than immortality, as some powers do in the story, immortality itself is already at the actual S tier of superpowers
I wonder if his relatively lean and unmuscular build was consciously decided on because his power would, realistically, actually make it really really hard to get swole, since he has done a whole shitload of manual labor, like an excessive amount. A normal person doing the work he did prior to the island would be fucking built But since he's got wolverine or better healing factor, he wouldn't really be able to get all that much stronger. Shielded from muscular atrophy, but prevented from the process that builds muscle by the same mechanism, you know Or was it just like, "we gotta have a bishie"?
I guess you could go either way with healing factors, if you wanted, though It can either completely cripple your ability to gain muscle, or make it REALLY fucking easy Just depends how you make it function

I get way too caught up with details when it comes to powers like regen, really It's just one of a few select powers where the specifics of how it works actually matters a great deal Wolverine and Deadpool both can come back from being like... at least broken down to individual cells, possibly atomization, which means their regen is not just "faster healing", it's the ability to reconstitute their entire physical form, brain and all. The concept of "death" literally doesn't exist for them beyond a sort of "dead god" type deal where you lodge something in their heart or something and keep it there with more force than the regen can muster in opposition If you cut their arm off, they grow another one. It can't be dependent on something like available calories or the like either, cause as mentioned they can come back from being broken down into individual cells, none of which will have the actual energy in them to refabricate the whole body, obviously. Peak gets really difficult once you start doing ascension levels level 1 isn't that bad, some extra falldamage is very manageable as long as you're careful level 2 gets a fair bit worse, hunger increasing real fast means you can't always be so careful and you're always on the clock level 3 makes items weigh moer so that's another problem level 4 I dunno yet cause dutchfriend and I didn't start 3 yet
