Rei !p8eYCadcMo
>>1152177 Weird I had a similar issue a while ago but wait no actually never OS level this is likely not a major android issue but an issue with your phone specific version
Rei !p8eYCadcMo

Samu /人◕ ‿‿ ◕人\
jarvis put this patron in a jetski rightnow
Samu /人◕ ‿‿ ◕人\
so were you in a motor.vehicle collision? if so thats rough
S C
no, the suspension's just snapped on one of the wheels eyeball estimates by my dad and stepdad based on respectively in-person look-see and pictures puts the probable repair cost at about half what the car cost to begin with no accident happened or anything, it just kinda became like that at some point shortly after my dad bought me new wheels can't prove it, but I think they might have fucked something up while they were doing that at the shop
>>1152259 ah yikes yea machines do be breaking down except toyotas and subarus
S C
chances are I end up with a new car bright side, my mom has authorized an honestly staggering budget this car was a little less than $3K, but she's said she can go as high as like, about $20K
AlphaEvolve enhanced the efficiency of Google's data centers, chip design and AI training processes — including training the large language models underlying AlphaEvolve itself

The desire to write a thing about how actually kind of pathetic current llms are grows Maybe I'll hammer out a draft when I get home
Can't imagine it's of much interest to anyone but still
S C
If nothing else it'd be fun to put words to paper, even if digitally, with my thoughts on how ridiculous the idea of replacing writers and authors with the machine brains is I'm not even the kind of person who really buys into there being a sort 9f "soul" imparted by human hands, but through all my toying with the things, there's these extremely consistent outright annoying tendencies when you ask it to write a story, the kind of things where I'm honestly not sure what in God's name they trained on to manifest it. It's the kind of stuff that passes for writing at a glance, it's obviously structurally sound, but it feels somehow insulting to actually read it, like the machine mocks you for wanting to enjoy a short tale
Like a perfectly structurally correct book, but the stuff in the structure is just mush when it should be textured and crisp
moon
that sounds like something i'd enjoy in the most autistic way possible
moon
also hey ems what's good
S C
I doubt it tbh, it genuinely is a case where what it apits out is frustrating to read because it in a sense can't be read It's perfectly correct in all ways but it's just... There's nothing there, it's an imitation of how å story looks without the content
There's some differences between models, but for example with deepseek, all dialogue, if you can even call it that without insulting the very concept of communication, is metaphor. Imagine a drama of court intrigue and politics like game of thrones, except 90% of the spoken words and conversations (it doesn't actually do conversations tbf) are replaced with marvel movie quips. Every gift or question posed by a character to the protagonist is a gesture... Or a test. Everyone's voice is gravel wrapped in silk, every room smells of iron and desperation, and because the damn thing fundamentally is not equipped to distinguish its own previous outputs from the user's input, absolutely every detail presented is treated as extremely important. Somewhere a wolf howls at the moon, it will end a section, and from the on, that wolf is not just a flourish to impart some sense of a real world moving on despite the small concerns of the characters and scene, no that wolf is important now, it has to be kept in mind because the user mentioned it earlier.
I don't even expect much from it, but still. The idea of someone reading a book cobbled together with one of these things and actually enjoying it is so depressing I prefer to assume it doesn't happen.
S C
There's also this ever present sense of urgency. Pacing isn't a concept at all, the author has a gun to their head, told to wrap it up right now.
It's astonishing anyone would think this is the path to agi when even trying to mimic what one has to assume is its most reliable and structured training data results in something so completely worthless At least the image robots can make an image that looks good based on the prompt, even if it struggles with the odd detail and is far too influenced by some of the data resulting in a distinct AI aesthetic that's too smooth and too detailed without any actual detail. You can look at something dalle spits out and go "that looks nice" whether you like AI or not, but the robot meant to write stuff can't string together something that even enters the uncanny valley
moon
ew get that shit outta here my bad i just saw it
>I doubt it tbh, it genuinely is a case where what it apits out is frustrating to read because it in a sense can't be read that seems like most of my creative writing i dunno i like weird shit like that
S C
Yeah but you're a human. If you write something that appears not to make sense, it probably will make sense later on. With the machine you know it won't, because it didn't intend anything by it, taxing the ashes of a burned wheat field was just something that "looked right", it doesn't actually mean anything, it won't be explained through context as you read on how that can happen. The character just says that in response to something like "but they'll burn the fields! " and the story moves on It's not bravado or saying anything about a perhaps ignorant and naive ruler who doesn't understand the connection between the field and his income, because it is in fact the "author" who fundamentally doesn't know anything or understand anything at all in the first place.
It's that knowledge that the machine doesn't mean anything by the annoying parts that's genuinely frustrating
S C
I can share some of the stuff it's produced in my toying with it though, once I get home Dunno when that will be cause I'm gonna look at cars with my dad after work, but still
moon
get a 96 cadillac deville =] no dont the maintenance is abysmal
S C
Probably ending up with a Toyota honestly

lady got me to retune her tv while I was out deliverying groceries hope she got to watch her foosball o7
damn they're seeking the death penalty for luigi waddahell that's not gonna be the final conviction
Anno
ye thats old news
S C
I mean they've been parading him around like they discovered Osama Bin Laden actually survived and moved to the US, so that's hardly a surprise Impossible to know if he's gonna get convicted and if that's gonna be the verdict, though On the one hand, no way he's the right guy On the other hand, they need to convict someone of it
Honestly I do yeah Just very difficult to buy into the guy mercing someone that high profile and deciding "you know what, I'm gonna go get some mcdonald with basically a signed confession and the gun (apparently not actually the same gun) plus ammo in my car, just kinda chilling" was the move the next day
Samu /人◕ ‿‿ ◕人\
yea that part seems a bit perfect
the backstory with his health and posting history and the way he went off grid for months beforehand are also factors
S C
Yeah lemme just go fucking ninjamode leading up to this and once my face is on literally every single tv channel in the country, I'm gonna chill at mcdonalds literally the very next day
That's the same guy for sure Also strange how the cops arresting the single most wanted man in the country happened to all be without bodycameras or any other form of independent documentation, and bungled the whole "chain of custody" thing with all the evidence they, ahem, "found"
in more exciting news I MIGHT be getting a mitsubishi lancer it's kinda between that and a ford fiesta, OR a volvo v40 but the volvo's got a lot of kilometers on it plus it's like 30% more expensive than the other two
it's like, a 2008 model, and I guess there's a lot of lancers apparently In any case it looks pretty nice
If I was just doing a gut-purchase, I'd have gone for it just cause it was comfortable to sit in and looks neat, but my... cousin's husband? is gonna join my dad and I tomorrow to actually make a decision, he knows cars I don't really want the ford though
S C
if nothing else it's gonna be cool to have integrated bluetooth, and actually functioning speakers the speakers in the car I have, or had depending how you see it, were always fucking busted, couldn't handle bass at all and the front speakers were COMPLETELY fucked, crackling all the dang time
Samu /人◕ ‿‿ ◕人\
nice thats pretty pog

Whatever car I end up with, I gotta get rid of the old one too Not like I can sell it either, fucing thing's busted

money cleaner simulater is pretty fun actually cash cleaner*
i like how Connections has a fake loading progress bar for a second as if the game consists of more than a few hundred bytes of puzzle and a few bytes for your progress today
