I tried listening to an audiobook of an LN and I cringed super hard and felt repulsed after hearing the first 15 seconds
for overlord and youjo senki, audible got the VAs of the main characters to read it I'm not a big fan of Ainz' english VA, but Tanya's works real well >>1147270 though yeah I can get this at least for this Realist Hero thing I'm listening to right now, the tone is so fucking off

well there's also a big of a difference between reading aloud and voice acting both are voice acting in a strict sense, but you're not portraying a character, or you're not really supposed to, when reading narrative To some degree, sure, but not in the same way

oh yeah when you're reading dialogue, some voicework is appropriate for sure It is kinda weird to hear Tanya's VA, though I've not actually watched the dub, deliver Tanya's lines that I know from the anime in a tone that feels really wrong though like you're her voice actor, you know the delivery's off... but then I guess you can't go all out when doing a reading of a full damn book

she could but I dunno if the person doing the direction for the recording would be good enough at voice direction to get a good performance out of her
oh yeah, there's that too and it's difficult to do a lot of retakes anyway for mid-page dialogue and stuff without it feeling very stilted as a listening experience, you'd need unnatural pauses to leave room for the cutting and pasting
It would be really cool if they did an audiobook with someone experienced reading audiobooks doing the narration, but they tag in the voice actors from the actual show to do all the dialogue, even if that's a ridiculous amount of effort, it'd be fun
They ran a bunch of tests but said everything was normal they called it a syncopal episode and said I need to see a cardiologist to get cleared before I do anything
It might mean I can't get my surgery on the 10th if I can't get cleared fast enough

yeah it wasn't great happened at an all day meditation thing i was running i felt weird so i sat down, like a sudden drop in blood pressure i sat down and then the next thing i knew, i was looking up at the ceiling and people were around me i couldn't hear anything, just tinnitus like there had been an explosion and then my hearing starting coming back and my friend told me i was propped up on her thigh because i had passed out and ems was on their way everyone was freaking out ems came and cleared me and left i was making jokes the whole time, like it's been a long time since a bunch of women undressed me in public but afterwards everyone started telling me it looked like i had a seizure and i felt really badly so i went to the hospital
ill do my best it was an exciting experience at the very least
its been years since i had an X-ray done and a cute EMS trainee failed to take my blood three times and then got depressed about it
honestly it wouldn't have been a bad way to spend the day if it didn't potentially have serious consequences for the rest of my life but it's probably nothing. i probably had a bad reaction to something i ate or something? idk

A little annoyed I can't seem to get as much sleep as I want it's not like I'm really tired or anything, but being really tired, going to bed, and then waking up again after like 4-6 hours just feels like something's wrong it makes sense when I'm in a depressive slump, but it's strange when I'm not
