With only a glance at the legs in the thumbnail of that picture I had a somewhat different image in mind
Also hello
Anno

I've been rewatching 3-gatsu no Lion lately I hadn't really forgotten but it's nice to be reminded just how great that series is Especially from an animation and directorial standpoint I think it's SHAFT's modern magnum opus
The next episode I've got up should introduce Shimada to Rei The best oji-san of all time I'm looking forward to it
i love lappland
title drop!?!? wait wrong show
Anno
Oh no A traitor in our mists
Anno
The male commanders are all in like, lightweight Spartan armor And the MC commander is still mostly in the OL-style semi-formal outfit
i love lappland
oh it's WA and super sass
Anno
More like Super I already made this joke
i love lappland
TIME TO PUT THE PYRE IN VAMPIRE
Anno
Yeah but that's a good pun Has a nice long lifespan Just dropping one letter to make a crass joke is good for about only one shot Just like a Super SASS
Anno
(As I do not know guns this joke is not meant to be accurate to the gun's quality in the slightest)
i love lappland
m4 used to be kind of hard but ever since losing everyone and then reuiniting m4 has been kind of a loser
how many time will liscia get jealous this episode
Anno
He's sure renovated this room into a very Japanese style
Anno
Souma did assassinate like 95% of his nation's top nobility As far as people who would be good at arithmetic or other bureaucratic skills, they would probably have been pretty good talent pools to pull from But they were also corrupt assholes so, hard sell
At least (so far) they haven't done "Slavery bad, but..." There's quite a few isekai out there with slavery themes and they almost always try to pseudo-rationalize it, or show that it's not so bad
i love lappland
so is camus beholden to others for the profits of the sales or does camus own them now that would really matter a lot in my judgement of this situation
Anno
All these petty lords seem pretty bad at managing their domain No wonder Elfrieden was running into the ground by the time Souma came aroun
i love lappland
set them free and take them as wives i don't like that
Anno
Yeah.
i love lappland
oh it was his grandfather's inheritance so they were his slaves so couldn't he have set them free?
Anno
Oh wait yeah she is a raccoon I wonder if this was written after Shield Hero got popular
i love lappland
*takes off glasses* OH ITS THE LITERAL KING
Anno
Clark Kent motherfucker
Anno
Hah hah hah I fucking knew he'd bring up the American Civil War there And like with the Cold War, I feel like the author didn't entirely get the facts straight
At least Souma is on board with ending slavery in his kingdom He can be a bit fuzzy at times on ethicial ruling versus pragmatic ruling
i love lappland
i recognize and respect that they managed to approach the topic without it being an absolute fucking mess but i still think it's a far cry from what i'd hope for and i don't entirely recognize the necessity, if learning that slavery even existed in the world was part of the opening of this episode and not something that had been part of the series the necessity for implementing the subject at all i feel rather indifferent in the end, towards this episode
Anno
The frequency that slavery pops up in isekai, especially sex slavery, always makes me a bit uncomfortable Because when they try to romanticize it, or somehow rationalize it It's hard not to put it up against the real life slavery and sex slavery that the Japanese forced the Chinese and other civilian prisoners through in WWII
a decent part of my life is centered around looking for images of kemonomimi meido and posting them in a discord that exists fo the sole purpose of sharing them
i love lappland
i'm surprised noe hasn't lost his hat
Anno
A man's status is his hat in time era In this time era even He would never lose his hat
Anno
Vanitas doesn't really flex that he's supposed to be a doctor all that much Although in practice all we've really seen him do is like, magic doctor stuff
i love lappland
oh no
i love lappland
he's kind of right she did put him under a spell in that moment
Anno
Hah hah poor Noe got thrown out too
Anno
Jeanne is cute though Vanitas could do far worse
Anno
Is this the first time Roland's called him Vincent I'm pretty sure he consistently calls him Vanitas So he's just trying to cover for Vanitas right
Normally that works pretty well for him though He's like an icebreaker ship that can cleave through difficult shit because of it This time he's lost at sea
Anno
Roland is very much enjoying this
i love lappland
so is olivier
Anno
Oh no Noe you dumb puppy of a human being You are totally going to misread this
Anno
Well he sat in on the conversation more than I thought he would Guess he might have a somewhat better idea of it
i love lappland
i love roland so much
Anno
Not that it's unsurprising, not really But that was a much more intensive bout of self-loathing from Vanitas than I expected
Anno
Poor Luca He's already lost to Vanitas
i love lappland
lucuck
Anno
Hah hah hah You're digging your own grave there Luca
He did get a bit snapped back to reality when she brought up the date
Anno
Come to think of it, Noe did lose his hand in that last fight with Astolfo The arm's currently in a sling Did it get reattached with vampire healing powers and just needs to set like a broken bone
the immediate, first thought to careen into my head was "how great would it be if this snake said something with HanaKana's voice
Anno
It being a radiant white snake definitely leans itself to that too
Anno
Cool ji-chan He's got a good attitude for a grizzled old hunter
i love lappland
wait so in this episode we learn she isn't wearing underwear and then she walks in the air above the army she's marching with
i love lappland
the holy knight's shield has a bunch of inscriptions on the inside i love shit like that
Anno
The variety in armor they're wearing is kind of funny Like one's in mid-weight European armor and another's in light samurai gear They're not player characters either so it's not like this is some MMO build or something
Oh it's less a camping trip and more a cabin retreat That's kind of nice I don't really like tenting too much, but having a cabin to set up in is comfy
Anno
That's a pretty scary thing to learn as a little kid hah hah
>>1033825 It's like Hiyori explained earlier in the series Fish are generally attracted to things like waterfalls and waterspouts where a bit of white water forms Although I can't quite remember the exact reasoning I think it was either the higher oxygen content in the water attracts them, or the patter of water on the water surface reminds them of things like bugs and other things to eat The latter is also true for why fishing is good to do when it's raining
i love lappland
koi's introspection is my favorite part about this show
Anno
Going all the way to Hokkaido for a fishing and camping trip would be pretty fun But yeah, it's a bit more wild out there than central Japan
Anno
Shallow rivers like that are pretty soothing for me I like the sound they produce
