The death was pretty ridiculous, and the dead guy was a fair bit of an ass
But I guess he was someone's son in the end
Although his dad does seem to not be too opposed to slandering his dead son

This series really doesn't mince injuries and violence
Although it doesn't glorify it either

I'm usually kind of wary about a show staking its identity on it having some kind of "tensai" protagonist, since writing geniuses usually just involves glazing over the actual meat of their genius and cutting straight to them smugly showing off their genius
But this series does a good job of showing how Wein plans things and how his mind operates on the fly to come out on top

I think this series focuses a bit more on microscopic planning by its MC
Where Genjitsu has more of a focus on Souma's macroscopic plans for his kingdom

Summon magic where the summons can get stronger as you use them and unlock stronger skills and such is kind of neat
As far as I know, most MMOs tend to just have you get more diverse static summons

I think it's something that could be tailored to be not too unenjoyable
The experience scheme doesn't have to match what you'd be getting as a player

in an RPG it'd probably be fine
but in an MMO, it just boils down to time spent vs value gained
as everything does
so additional grinds like that are not something i welcome

I was thinking more parallel grinds than additional ones

There's a bit of childish immaturity there, but he is in middle school, so I feel he gets some leeway there
But he keeps fit, he's pretty considerate, and he 's more or less a fair loser, going along with what Takagi wins when she beats him in a game
