Some things of note Nothing here that Bang's interested in watching I don't think And if you want to skip Orient and just do four shows tonight I'm not opposed to the idea
I'm just a little confused to the perspectives involved It looked like they were lower than the clouds but then they broke a hole in the sky Plus they shot out of that giant castle/landship thing
I wonder how involved mangaka can be with stuff like voice casting for series they make I know with western authors, it's pretty rare they actually have a say with casting for movies of their works Maybe they sit in on the casting, but I do have a hard time believing they actually help pick the voices.
Do you mean Shirobako? But I feel you'd have remembered that name Ah okay
Anno
This one reminds me more of some of the other seiyuu-SoL shows we've seen Like that one with the girl with the egg shirt that Bang likes posting Or that one about the trio of rookie seiyuu that had a bunch of cameos from real life well-known seiyuu
Well Idolmaster also had the advantage of being a pre-existing franchise Most people who watched the anime were at least familiar with all the characters It's a harder task to drop a whole dozen new characters on an audience
Anno
For a pretty waffly girl she does a pretty good haughty attitude for her character roles Oh I guess she's got a bit of a diverse pool of personalities she can pull from Her haughty one seemed to be the strongest though
Anno
The other thing is Idolmaster had two cours to establish their broad cast I'd be surprised if this was more than one cour
There's been a lot of focus on the protagonist in this one despite the large cast similar but not similar to how idolmaster kinda follows producer-san
Anno
Having a clear main character or few at least is incredibly helpful for any kind of story, really There's a strong reason it's one of the most universally consistent aspects of narration in all storytelling cultures
There really is a kind of old-school tabletop group feel to a lot of these characters They're all their own identity and they've learned how to work with each other despite that
It's probably a legacy of the original run of the manga, back in the late 90s / early 00s Although the original mangaka could be involved with the designs still so it's just how their style has preserved
Anno
Apples are good I wish I was better at remembering to eat the stuff I buy that perishes fast like fruit
Anno
So is their gang all demons? They've been consistently called that, but they look more human than not I thought it was more a metaphorical demon than literal
Hah hah wait He's aiming down the sights of his gun On the side of his face that's missing an eye Now I'll grant I know nothing about proper shooting form, but that feels a bit counterintuitive
Anno
With how he looks and usually acts, he strikes as more of a mid-twenties guy But he's actually like sixteen or seventeen
Anno
I like giant hammers as weapons Highly impractical and extremely unrealistic But I like the aesthetic
Futasu could be a Japanese word But I think it's Futsal Which honestly sounds like less of a legitimate word than futasu Why on earth did futsal become another word for football / soccer
I never read or watched Haikyuu Sports series aren't something I go out of my way to consume There's very few I'd likely watch if I wasn't watching them with you
Anno
Wow, they didn't even get to finish their game with the delinquents They got scared off by these prissy prettyboys
Anno
Flesh Cup
Anno
Sakaki is still really in his somewhat unlikeable phase I'm sure he'll warm up once he remembers what it's like to love football again, but right now he's a hard sell
Anno
Their captain's normally a pretty nice guy but he does have a bit of a serious streak
>>1017184 Oh I guess haikyuu was me and ika it was like 50 episodes and we watched all of it
Anno
There was a second season that came out, I think it was when Ika was starting to burn out or had dropped anime altogether I volunteered to pick the series up with it but I think we were overloaded with other stuff and never got around to it
I feel like I watched the second season too? Can't remember. Is Ika still around here and there?
Anno
Pretty much no He seems to be polite enough to respond to me on Discord, at least when I messaged him if he wanted to watch the final Evangelion movie with us But we don't talk (as much my fault as anyone's) and I am almost completely certain he hasn't been around /moe/ at all in years
Anno
I'm assuming this stuff about piva -pivo and ala are some Italian terms They // Actually, might be Spanish Their captain did spend some time in Spain
I email lobster-chan once or twice a year to see if she's still alive but I never get a response. In fact this conversation reminded me to send the 2022 email.
Anno
Hah hah hah It would be really nice if she's okay I 'm really bad at keeping in contact with people; idle conversation is hard for me to start and I don't really know how to just do casual pleasantries And then the time since I last talked to people grows with time and I get anxiety about trying to reach out with them It's much easier for me when I have a purpose, like scheduling for Evangelion
