-- Fall 2021 Deep Insanity - The Lost Child Episode 7-12 Platinum End Episode 11-13 Visual Prison Episode 9-12
Anno
Kirara won't be around for anime tonight, but he said to watch whatever we want, it's fine Not that there's a whole lot at the moment hah hah
Yuu
hm yeah not a lot bang tonight? are these even bang shows
Anno
Haven't checked, because yeah, not really anything Bang would watch, aside from maybe trying new stuff, but even then I think he might at least enjoy Saiyuuki if he was to watch it, but that was something we went ahead without him for last Thursday
cellular bang
uhhhhhh yeah don't worry about me for these if Cue turns out to be amazing for some word reason let me know and I'll go back and watch it but otherwise i don't think I'm watching any of these
Yuu
well what do you want to watch out of tonight?
Anno
Don't really have any strong preferences Arifureta I guess, since it's something we're already familiar with And Saiyuuki, it was fun enough and Kirara can probably be relied on to watch it for next Thursday
Yuu
orient is a bang show isn't it? we watched it with him last week
oh but it was kinda crappy wasnt it
Anno
He really didn't like it hah hah
Yuu
i didn't either
deep insanity 7 atifureta cue Saiyuuki Reload futsal boys
Anno
This actually might be a season where we can choose between watching some whatever stuff, or just doing a night or two a week of only four shows Depends on the quality of some of the things we haven't seen yet There isn't the volume of shows we've gotten in more recent seasons
Yuu
seems like it
deep insanity okay letws start
Anno
Reaaaady
Anno
Oh did they recover his body I thought he fell into the void Guess that means he is dead-dead
Anno
I guess their XO did seem kind of gender-ambivalent, but it's still kinda weird seeing the subs use gender-neutral pronouns Even with that, they didn't really establish in the narration any particular gender or not
Anno
She's still really gunning to kill that girl
Yuu
it looks pretty cold even in their bae base
Anno
Yeah The stark, kinda clinical look to the place doesn't really help Everything has that kinda futuristic laboratory look to it
Anno
Yeah I thought she might take to the field herself Since they lost their XO
Anno
He's still missing his arm Or well I guess that's not something that ever stops being a "still"
Yuu
wow those fish
Anno
Oh she's got a cool weapon Scythes are fun but impractical weapons
Yuu
wow she's strong
Anno
I guess you don't make commander in this organization without being competent
Anno
He made a good deduction but he's still not quite a good enough fighter to follow up Good thing Vera's here to back him up
Yuu
okay ari oka lets start
Anno
This was a pretty dumb isekai hah hah The one where the guy goes full edgelord after losing his eye and I think arm
Anno
Although it's been long enough that I'm a bit fuzzy on some of the particulars
Anno
His vampire waifu is pretty cute though
Yuu
i actually had this one confused with the one where he's sent from another dimension and has a band of idiots and a robot waifu
they spent a lot of time driving around in the desert in a jeep in that show too
Anno
Oh yeah, No. 6 or something That one was written by the author of KonoSuba
Anno
Mana overload sounds like the kind of excuse a doujin manga would use to get down to business
Anno
This guy has a really angular chin
Yuu
>>1015288 this seems like something that has probably actually happened in fate
Anno
Yeah, that too hah hah The association of mana with certain bodily fluids is something Fate has practically already set up
Anno
The popularity of series like this one in Japan is the kind of thing that can really confuse me at times
Yuu
yeah this is kinda megh
meh
but this ED is good
Anno
Yeah it's nice The crackly bits at the start were kind of hitting my ears a bit harshly but the rest was good
Yuu
cue okay lets start
Anno
The aidoru engine must be satiated with the blood of new projects
Anno
This feels like it's supposed to be a Naussica expy or something else from that time period
Anno
It sounded like this was going to be an aidoru series But it if's a series about being a seiyuu that might be fun We don't get a whole lot of those
Yuu
i'd rather watch seiyuus than idols
Anno
It would definitely be a bit more fresh At the very least there's a bunch of otaku in this series which seem to like impersonating characters from stuff they like
Anno
I can only think of two shows that have really focused on the seiyuu life that we've seen Three if you count the parts of Shirobako which had some seiyuu stuff in it There was the show with egg shirt girl And that one with the three small-scale seiyuu that had a bunch of cameos from famous real life seiyuu
Anno
Fifteen girls is a pretty big cast to drop in the first episode
Yuu
this reminds me a lot of idolmaster
Anno
I can see why yeah
Anno
Wow they have to cut their teeth on Hamlet Probably my favourite Shakespeare play But it's kind of a weird thing to task girl seiyuu to perform
Anno
>Conversation between Hamlet and his lover, Ophelia >"To be or not to be" At least be accurate with the part of the play you uuuusssseeee
Anno
Well it sounds like the later parts they used were a coversation between Hamlet and Ophelia, yeah
Anno
Hah hah hah That "Get thee to a nunnery" line is always funny
Anno
Oh I had a feeling that one might be a bit of a English-speaker
Anno
Who ever thought Hamlet could be so gay
Yuu
I guess she found her friend I guess the producer likes it too this is the producer-san isn't it
Anno
Sounds a bit more like the company president She's not producing anything but manages the talent agency
Seems to be a real impromptu kind of person too She made them do lessons right off the bat and then immediately go into an audition
Yuu
teaching her employees to expect the unexpected
reload okay lets start
Anno
Okay Miss Cardcaptor
Anno
The original manga for this only ran for something like six or seven years I think But it's inspired a bunch of spin-off series, games, and even anime before this So I guess it's a really popular series in Japan
Anno
Wow what a cold-blooded monk
Anno
They're all so easy to get a rise out of
Yuu
This has distinctive designs such hard lines
Anno
The fashion and stuff is pretty unique too Or rather they've got a bunch of different cultures represented in the different characters
Anno
It's another one of those series which kinda has a tabletop feel to it Like a bunch of players brought their own weird unique characters to the table and these are the adventures they get up to
Yuu
futsai boys
i do like soccer
okay lets start
Anno
Of all the unimportant things, soccer is the most important
Anno
Hah hah STORM OF HORIZON
Anno
They're really not scrimping on the gay tones for this eh Not that mouth agape is the incorrect response to somebody tumbling through the air on their bicycle over your head
Yuu
likable protagonist
Anno
And a kind of tetchy second protagonist But that's usually how these kinds of duos go, eh
Anno
The other guy kinda feels like he's forgotten how to have fun playing football He's a good player but what's the point in playing if you're not having fun
Yuu
indoor soccer that's pretty strange
Anno
This grey-haired guy seems like a bit of a kusogaki type
Anno
I wonder if there's any real life inspiration for the "highschool full of delinquents" trope that pops up from time to time in series Might be that it's just a fun idea to play with though
Anno
You know, "pasu da" kinda sounds a good bit like pasta
Anno
Kinda like basketball, football is probably a sport which inspires a fair bit of diva-ism Which isn't exactly great for a team sport, hah hah
Anno
Delinquents gonna delinquent
Yuu
soccer and basketball both are mostly running too
that was okay some good things and some less than good htings tonight
Anno
Yeah, it's a pretty standard sports show it feels like Nothing bad about that
