it looks like a lot of shows aired but i doubt i'll be okay with myself in the morning if i watch more than two (2) max
i do have to work even though i'm dying
i'm not really dying it's mostly just a head cold
if i get sent home that's fine
but i have to show up at 8:45 for my own pride at the very least
so i'll watch two shows and catch up on whatever else you guys watch

Akebi-chan is a cute girls doing cute things anime about a girl in an all girls' academy. It might also be slightly lolicon pandering, I think, judging from the chatter I've been seeing about it
Baraou is a very liberal interpretation of the Shakespeare play Richard III, I think, with handsome boys rather than a literally deformed Prince Richard
Cue! is an aidoru show. Can't see anything particularly remarkable about it from the synopsis
Futsal Boys!!!!! is about high school boys playing soccer
Genjitsu Shugi is a continuation of that isekai where the very realistic guy becomes king of a country
Girls' Frontline is a "proper" adaptation of the plot of the mobage I believe, as opposed to a shorts thing
Karakai Jouzu no Takagi-san is that series about the forehead girl who playfully teases the boy she likes, who is always inable to get back at her for it
Shikkakumon is a fantasy series where a highly powerful magical sage reincarnates himself into a new world, but the new world doesn't care about magic
Slow Loop is a cute girls doing fishing things show
Sono Bisque Doll is about a boy who likes making those small hina dolls, more specifically, the clothes for them, and an otaku gyaru who discovers his hobby and drags him into the world of cosplay for him to make her outfits for him. It's also unbelievably, UNBELIEVABLY cute and it is BY FAR one of the things I've been looking forward to the most this season like we really need to watch this tonight

oh yeah the only thin about akebi i know is the stuff i've seen on /a/ about it
which leads me to believe yeah it's probably not for me

But it has been a season or two

I'd wager production issues from Covid are still wrecking havoc in the animation industry
Now, kind of like with work from home, they might take a look at how things fare because of that and go "actually yeah we're good keeping this change"
But I think a lot of shows which normally would have been one conjoined season have been and are still being split because of the pandemic

In another kind of series I'd almost say he's actually a previous isekai of the MC and everything failed and some weird time shit has brought him back to this world again

But it's probably just some embarassing time when the previous king failed a political plot and lost much of the power of his kingdom

I do not like her short hair

she looked better with longer hair for sure

I'd gladly be a hero protected by a woman!

I'm reminded that some of the weirdest backgrounds produce a lot of well-known light novel authors
The author for Spice & Wolf studied physics in college but ended up writing a series about macro and micro economics
The slime isekai was clearly written by someone who has a background in urban planning
And I get the feeling this author has similar interests
And Ryuukishi, who writes the When They Cry series, worked in civil service before beginning Higurashi

I can see the slime author having interest in urban planning, yeah

Oh, I guess the prince of this petty kingdom he seized at the end of the last season went running to the empire to demand they reinstate his lands

There was some weirdness with it, or maybe both first seasons
I think it might've been Netflix messing with stuff

Either way, it's a pretty episodic series, so it's fine

I think another series by this mangaka is getting an anime soon too

A lot of the original characters they come up with all have very distinct foreheads

That was an okay localization of the joke
He was, more literally, calling it "Jack in the Box: Dinosaur", with dinosaur being in English
And Takagi accurately predicted it would have a dinosaur (using the Japanese word) in it
So for the English localization they had him calling it "Jurassic"
And then changed Takagi's line about him not knowing what dinosaur (in English) means to him not knowing what era the dinosaurs lived in

Also how did we transition from her opening the box to this

yeah that was a good episode
the heads are bigger this season
the porportions were more lanky in the previous seasons

Takagi in particular is really slight
So when she's wearing casual wear which shows a lot of skin she looks like she's spaghetti with a bobblehead

yeah
I guess the new artstyle probably matches the manga better
