--New Years Specials Mahouka Koukou no Rettousei - Tsuioku-hen (1h 11min)
There is kind of a real world basis for what he said About the sword getting knicked and chipped based on the user, not the smith Fine blades like katana tend to need to be handled very precisely, eitherwise they chip easily I think that might be more the result of Japan's poor quality iron though
It seems even in his short time with Rengoku, he managed to accomplish something
Although the Hinokami Kagura moves are the ones he learned from his father
Anno
He's HOT BLOODED
Oh the subs localized the temperature into Fahrenheit How lame
Anno
I guess that's probably the simplest thing to believe when seeing Inosuke for the first time After all who in their right mind would actually go around wearing a boar's head
>It feels like they take being Japanese much more seriously than I do That's such a funny out of context line
But it's probably a product of his original world being a "normal" Japan Like by the 2000s, he could just be a happy teen living a regular life You would never have to really consider what it means to be Japanese, culturally and psychologically
Anno
She's really flexing her Shogun skills here This kind of regal motivation is definitely a good tool to have in the box as the nation's top military leader
Anno
Oh they are going to have Meiya masquerade as her twin the Shogun It developed a bit differently than I was expecting, but they're still using that scheme
No clue Either a kind of sleeper agent or some kind of substance was administered I think Or maybe there's a kind of contamination the BETA can induce Hopefully we'll see before the season is over
Anno
I guess crying is her going off the script she was supposed to follow Not that the Shogun hasn't been shown to be pretty compassionate But there's probably a precedence for composure that means she shouldn't cry in open like that
That's what I think, yeah Assuming that guy who was parlaying with the Shogun last episode was correct, the American forces are conspiring to take total control of Japan So she was probably serving to that role
lots of episodes were devoted to this humans vs humans arc
Anno
I expect it's a pretty thorough chapter in the original VN And maybe they knew there was no feasible way they could do the actual climax of Alternative in a single cour anime Like they did do some cutting earlier in the plot, compacting segments of the story into montages But I guess they figured whatever the deal with Alternative IV and whether or not humans can save Earth from the BETA is way too much material for a single cour
Yeah, looks like it Doesn't really explain anything The why of a brain in a jar is far more interesting than the is of one, hah hah
Anno
Can't help but feel a little bad By all accounts I've heard, Muv-Luv is the kind of story that really deserves a patient, in-depth adaptation of its material And this really didn't deliver on that account
