No 86 again this week By my understanding before the show started airing there was two announced scheduled interruption weeks, this being one of them They knew they wouldn't have an episode out this week before they even started airing That being said, there was a week where we got a recap episode isntead of an actual episode, that was an actual week of production issues The other two have just been scheduled interruptions

BDs used to give at least a somewhat good indicator if a show had interest though they're way less important now though especially now that we've reached the tipping point where overseas money is starting to beat domestic money when it comes to anime

The only overseas market the anime industry broadly cares about is China Sure you might get the odd studio or director who likes the western world and wants to make stuff they like, but the anime industry is still heavily focused on Japan, and then east Asia It's more that even in Japan, a lot of anime viewers have abandoned traditional viewing mediums and physical hard copies for streaming services, which has heavily disrupted how production committees gauge a specific show's success, since they still try to force the archaic system of BD sales numbers

I've always had a hard time with rough stages kind of stuff Kinda like how with math in school, you're always asked to show your work When I was younger I was really good at just jumping straight from the start to the conclusion entirely in my head and couldn't express the why of it in rough stages And nowadays when everything is hard I don't have the good habits of doing the rough steps first hah hah

yuka ended up being a very different person than i had thought and yatora has too i think when yuka saw yatora's hives, they realized that yatora isn't just skirting through his "model student"-ness i like this whole arc i thought it was really powerful and well-done
The characters around him have been kind of all saying that he's been rushing ahead full speed Plus he even said this episode that he's basically turned his body into a machine that produces paintings for the past few months He's likely not sleeping well and probably still isn't getting the ideal amount of nutrition he needs as a teenager Mix in some hovering stress and anxiety from the exceedingly slim percentage of people who make it through the exams he's taking Falling apart was going to be a matter of when, not if

I had a friend who took a design course in Singapore with an at-the-time pretty high profile designer who'd worked on concept work for games, movies, the works The course was a year long but she was basically spending the entire time drawing or practicing design skills She'd sleep like maybe two hours a day for weeks on end, and the constant rejections and criticisms was a huge stressor to her too
Did her skills increase from it? Yeah, definitely But even afterwards she wasn't satisfied with the gains she'd gotten for how much she'd had to go through Also the designer was an asshole
