it could be because of the recap or the delayed week

the pacing in season 2 compared to season 1 is not as good

It could also be an adaptation fussiness thing
Like they don't want to get into the middle of a different LN volume than the ones they're adapting for season two so they have to play around the limitations of the narrative arc of the adapted volumes
